This position will be based in Salt Lake City, UT (preferred) or Portland, OR and requires regular travel within your assigned territory. Occasional travel to company sites may be required as needed.
Are you a dynamic and results-driven individual with a passion for the spirits industry? Gallo is seeking a Business Development Manager-Control to join our team, where you'll play a crucial role in maximizing the sale of our spirits portfolio at retail and on-premise outlets in Oregon, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho and Utah. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for executing the sales plan, managing spirits product sales through the broker sales network, and acting as the Gallo brand representative in multiple assigned states.
In this role, you'll leverage your expertise to develop and maintain business relationships, execute selling techniques, and drive profitable share growth within key customer accounts and state headquarters. You'll work closely with management and brokers to ensure the execution of annual sales plans, evaluate market conditions, and make strategic decisions to maximize sales opportunities. Your ability to recognize changes in market dynamics and shift resources accordingly will be essential to your success.
Your responsibilities will include overseeing the implementation of Gallo national promotions and programs, conducting sales training, coordinating product launches, and engaging in consumer-facing events. You'll also be responsible for gathering and analyzing market and sales data to identify business opportunities and develop strategic initiatives. As a Gallo Ambassador, you'll advocate for our brands, host events, and leverage digital marketing programs to drive sales within your community.

What You Will Need:
- Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of Gallo Winery sales, marketing, or affiliated distributor sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of wine or spirits sales, marketing, restaurant/hospitality or distributor experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 10 years of Gallo Winery sales, marketing, or distributor sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 12 years of wine or spirits sales, marketing, restaurant/hospitality or distributor experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
- Candidate is required to have a valid driver’s license, a safe driving record and reliable vehicle (if applicable) at the time of hire. This position will undergo a motor vehicle check (MVR) to confirm a history of safe and responsible driving. If needed, candidate must obtain the appropriate state driver’s license based on the position’s location within 30 days of hire.
- Required to travel by air and automobile up to 50% during the course of business.
- Required to be 21 years of age or older.
- Required to lift and move product weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Required to employ an alternative work schedule to include weekends and evenings.
- Required to obtain a liquor license as required by state/locally.
- Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
What You Will Set You Apart:
- Bachelor's degree plus 6 years of Gallo winery or distributor sales experience to include a prior rotation as a Portfolio Consultant, Business Development Manager, Program Manager Sales-LDP, Business Intelligence Manager or Account Manager 2; OR Bachelor's degree plus 8 years of external alcohol sales experience to include experience working in control states.
- Direct managerial/supervisory experience with sales, retail, or on-premise employees (e.g. District Manager, Area Manager, State Manager, Field Marketing manager, etc.)
- Strong understanding of the spirits industry, competitive volume, price strategy and competitive structure.
- Experience setting high standards of performance for self and others; experience implementing standards of excellence.
- CSS, CSE, CEFS, CSSC or equivalent certification or in process within 6 months.
- Both On-Premise & Retail Experience.
Compensation:
- Hiring salary range posted: $123,975 - $185,915 / year
- Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
