The Wine Ambassador acts as a representative at lunches, dinners, special events, and wine/spirits tastings, sharing your knowledge about our exceptional products and company story. Leads engaging educational tours of our vineyards and winery, offering guests an immersive experience with wine/spirit educational overlays and receptions. In this role, you will educate a diverse audience, from senior sales management, wine merchants, and trade groups to general winery staff, consumers, and community groups, on our company history and technical wine knowledge. Your expertise will shine as you research, develop, compose, coordinate, and host trade visitor programs, ensuring each guest's experience is "best in class." Provide expert answers to questions about winegrowing, winemaking, seasonal vineyard and winery activities, and the distinctions between varieties, brands, regions, and producers worldwide.

 

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of hospitality, public relations, communications, sales experience, marketing, or teaching and educating others reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor’s degree plus 1 year of Gallo Winery hospitality, marketing/marketing services or sales or Gallo Distributor marketing or sales experience.
  • Candidate is required to have a valid driver’s license, a safe driving record and reliable vehicle (if applicable) at the time of hire. This position will undergo a motor vehicle check (MVR) to confirm a history of safe and responsible driving. If needed, candidate must obtain the appropriate state driver’s license based on the position’s location within 30 days of hire.
  • Required to be at least 21 years of age.
  • Required to frequently lift and move cases of product which weighs up to 40 pounds.
  • Required to work evenings, weekends and occasional holidays.
  • Required to perform strenuous outdoor physical activities (noted below under physical demands section).
  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the  time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
  • Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

 

What Will Set You Apart:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of wine hospitality experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Gallo Sales District Manager or Gallo Marketing experience.
  • Wine or spirits industry experience.
  • Public speaking experience.

 

Compensation:

 

 

  • Hiring Range Posted: $30.63 / hr - $45.91 / hr 
  • Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
