We are seeking a Sr Hospitality Manager who is responsible for managing the luxury brand and overall guest experience and manage the organization’s overall direction, goals and Visitor Center activities for high revenue and volume tasting room operations in compliance with established policies and procedures. Applies skills in direct shipping, consumer direct communications, sales metrics and motivation, merchandising and financial systems and controls. 

What You Will Do:

  • Develops and ensures implementation of success vision/strategy through strong leadership that is consistent with brand equities to achieve Experience objectives. Develops innovative Guest Experiences that support the brand essence.
  • Oversees the visitor center programs, ensuring the experience is “best industry” for each guest.
  • Manages workflow for all Visitor Center activities and events.
  • Participates in department and interdepartmental planning and management teams and works cross-functionally to improve processes within the organization.
  • Develops strategic initiatives to increase wine sales, conversion to club membership and guest engagement at higher tier/luxury experiences.
  • Provides leadership to attract, develop, and retain high quality experience professionals.
  • Plans workforce resource requirements.
  • Identifies and obtains staff capabilities needed to accomplish objectives and conducts training, instruction and development of staff.
  • Provides supervision to ensure that the property and equipment is maintained in satisfactory condition.
  • Monitors and ensures achievement of performance goals and objectives either directly or through staff.
  • Leads and drives projects that have short to long term focus.
  • Develops or approves recommendations to change systems, policies, and procedures; ensures timely and accurate implementation.
  • Develops, maintains and assures adherence to operating budget.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations regarding recruiting, hiring, quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations.
  • Balances planning efforts with day to day demands.
  • Oversees the purchasing and merchandising of profitable soft goods, consistent with brand essence. 

Leadership Expereince:

  • Develops, coaches and mentors subordinate staff.
  • Conducts performance evaluations; recommends salary adjustments; rewards employees or takes disciplinary action as necessary; addresses complaints and resolves issues.

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 7 years of hospitality, brand marketing, luxury sales, public relations or trade marketing experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Master’s degree plus 5 years of hospitality, brand marketing, luxury sales, public relations or trade marketing experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of Gallo experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR 11 years of brand marketing, hospitality, retail sales, or trade marketing experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Supervisor/Managerial experience.
  • Experience with maintaining a professional demeanor that positively reflects on the company.
  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Required to work nights and weekends as necessary.
  • Required to be legal drinking age (21 years of age or older).

What Will Set You Apart:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 9 years of hospitality or winery luxury sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Experience working directly for a winery or in luxury hospitality.
  • CSW, Certified Sommelier or WSET Advanced Certifications.
  • Gallo DtC/Experience or Marketing experience.
  • Lift and move cases of product that weighs up to 50 pounds.
  • Strong interest and passion for developing expertise in wine and food.
  • Experience in managing a budget and labor.
  • Experience reading, analyzing, and interpreting common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.  
  • Skilled in the use of MS Word and MS Excel, basic MS Access and MS PowerPoint at an intermediate level. Proficient in CRM, POS or Salesforce.
  • Experience responding to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Experience writing speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
  • Experience effectively presenting information to top management, public groups, or boards of directors.
  • Experience applying advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
  • Experience applying mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
  • Experience defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.
  • Experience interpreting an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Experience working with all levels and functions within the company
