The Lead Concierge is an exciting new opportunity to be the primary “owner” of our Reception and Reservations operations. This role is the first point of contact with our guests both in person (greeting at the reception desk upon arrival), and virtually (via phone, email, and text, when booking reservations). This first impression is of paramount importance to Louis M. Martini Winery, and will require a high level of polished hospitality, warmth, organization, and confidence. This role will also support tasting room operations in a manner that achieves the established financial goals, ensures a rich consumer experience, builds consumer loyalty, and reflects the brand essence.

 

The Concierge greets and checks in visitors at the reception desk, confirms details, resolves payments, and updates guest profiles in Tock and C7. They enhance the guest experience by providing a mini tour and introducing guests to their host, while also managing reservation inquiries, daily schedules, and floor plans to ensure efficient service and maximize revenue. Additionally, the concierge updates event information on the Tock platform and prioritizes club members and VIPs in collaboration with the Club Manager and VIP Client Representative to ensure satisfaction.

 

As a Lead, you will be responsible for preparing the tasting room for daily operations, serving as a knowledgeable resource on winemaking and products, promoting Wine Club memberships, and assisting with various tasting room and event responsibilities. The individual also handles administrative tasks, operates registers, processes orders, stocks merchandise, ensures regulatory compliance, and represents the company at events. Additionally, they monitor staff in the absence of the supervisor, participate in staff training, provide feedback, and ensure high-quality guest experiences while maintaining professional and regulatory standards.

 

What You Will Need:

  • High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate, plus 6 years of tasting room, customer service, retail sales, wine industry, hospitality, team management, public relations, marketing or teaching and educating others experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of tasting room, customer service, retail sales, wine industry, hospitality, team management, public relations, marketing or teaching and educating others experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Required to be 21 years of age or older.
  • Required to work weekends and a flexible schedule as needed.
  • Required to engage in frequent walking and standing.
  • Experienced in reading and comprehending simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Experienced in writing simple correspondence and procedures.
  • Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Lift and move product weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Experience executing tasks that required attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience executing tasks or job functions that require good organizational skills and engaging in functions using own initiative.
  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
  • Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

 

What Will Set You Apart:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Hospitality Management plus 2 years of wine sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of tasting room, customer service, retail sales, wine industry, hospitality, team management, public relations, direct to consumer marketing or wine education experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate, plus 8 years of tasting room, customer service, retail sales, wine industry, hospitality, team management, public relations, direct to consumer marketing or wine education experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Possession of CSW, Certified Sommelier or WSET Advanced Certifications.
  • Knowledge of wine and wine production.
  • Knowledge of federal and state legal compliance related to tasting room operations preferred.
  • Experience training and leading others.

 

Compensation: 

 

 

  • Hiring Range Posted: $27.79/hr - $37.50/hr 
  • Plus quarterly incentives! 
  • Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
