As a Facilities Maintenance & Grounds Assistant, you will be responsible for conducting general maintenance service calls, performing preventative maintenance, and carrying out routine equipment checks under general supervision. You will handle various building and office projects, including plumbing, electrical work, painting, and repairs to common facility machinery. Your role will involve running, installing, and maintaining electrical fixtures, generators, and other building equipment while ensuring compliance with service standards and maintaining the highest quality.

 

You will conduct routine inspections of equipment and power systems, performing necessary repairs and notifying supervisors of significant issues. Your duties will also include landscaping tasks, driving pomace trucks during harvest, and supporting preventative maintenance on HVAC units, water coolers, and other equipment. You will troubleshoot problems, log services, and coordinate maintenance calls for various departments while ensuring general upkeep of the facility.

 

Additionally, you will perform inspections and maintenance on systems such as fire extinguishers, generators, HVAC, and water systems, keeping accurate records. Your responsibilities extend to welding tasks, maintaining landscaping equipment, and staying current with local regulations and best practices in building maintenance.

What You Will Need:

•    High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 3 years of maintenance/handyman experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
•    Required to work one weekend per month as needed.
•    Candidate is required to have a valid driver’s license, a safe driving record and reliable vehicle (if applicable) at the time of hire. This position will undergo a motor vehicle check (MVR) to confirm a history of safe and responsible driving. If needed, candidate must obtain the appropriate state driver’s license based on the position’s location within 30 days of hire.
•    Required to lift 100 lbs as well as lift and carry 75lbs up flights of stairs and ladders.
•    Required to work on ladders, building rooftops and crawl through tight spaces (e.g. attics and basements).
•    Skilled in reading, comprehending, interpreting and executing simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
•    Skilled in writing simple correspondence.
•    Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing using whole numbers.

•    Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
•    Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

 

What Will Set You Apart:

•    High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 5 years of maintenance/handyman experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
•    Facilities maintenance experience.
•    Post-secondary education coursework to include electronics and welding.

 

Compensation:

  • Hiring Salary Range Posted: $25.96 - $35.00 / Hour
  • Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
