Summary:
Serves as the in-house subject matter expert providing thought leadership with the ability to strategize and execute media with a precision mindset. Works as part of the Media Investment Team and partners with brand and internal cross functional teams to translate business strategies and needs into integrated marketing and media plans. Assists in the strategic and day to day management of the media agency and media partners to drive brand growth and is responsible for hands on development, management, execution and optimization of integrated, full funnel media campaigns for an assigned portfolio of brands. Reports into a Senior Director of Digital Marketing and Media Investment and works collaboratively with other internal and external partners.
Essential Functions:
- Collaborates with internal and external partners to bring business needs for media to cross functional teams to drive outcomes; leverage these teams to inform recommendations and strategies.
- Media planning process from briefing through to execution and optimization for all assigned brands
- Cross collaborator with Social, digital and web teams to ensure all campaigns are aligned to with consumer needs and communication objectives
- Precision audience development in partnership with Gallo Analytics and Insights teams to ensure audiences are developed to deliver against brand goals
- Serves as the media steward for assigned brands. Knows the media plans inside and out; effectively communicates planned results on key KPIs; drive decisions, manage timelines, and ensure all who touch the media for your brand(s) are informed and aligned to goals.
- Supports the management of the overall media agency relationship by providing direction and guidance at the strategic level as well as the day-to-day for planning, execution and optimization of paid media spend.
- Champions future-proofing media plans with innovative thinking to address consumer media consumption. Works closely with agencies to drive consumer insights through use cases built through our tech stack and analytics to welcome new friends to wine. Monitors industry trends and competitive landscape to derive implications. Proactively stays current on the Alc Bev industry and our competitors to identify trends, testing opportunities and best practices.
- Leads the optimization of media spend. Monitor results to ensure plans deliver as expected. Provides feedback to internal and external teams to improve performance. Develops actionable performance media reports in partnership with Analytics and Insights groups, media agencies, and partners utilizing industry trends, business environment and media results.
- Delivers on going paid media thought leadership and education to marketing partners through the development and deployment of paid media best practices for the Enterprise. Authors content that increases the acumen of the broader Gallo marketing community delivered through both formal and informal trainings.
- Collaborates with eCommerce, Central Commerce and Forward Deployed teams to identifies ways that media can support Customer and Retail initiatives.
- Evaluates new media opportunities, technologies and platforms to assist in assessment and execution of marketing initiatives and ROI. Remains current with media trends, potential new platforms/partners and strategies.
- Leads development, approval, implementation and tracking of media learning plans. Feeds test results into reporting and interpret the data to lead media team POV on results and next steps. Reviews department metrics to determine the effectiveness and viability of developed campaigns; develops alternate strategies to improve campaigns.
- Participates in department and interdepartmental planning and management teams; Work with cross functional partner teams/agencies to align objectives and develop integrated connection campaigns.
- Establishes and maintains strong relationships with industry and agency experts to fully understand their offerings and apply back to media plans. Provides feedback to vendors on performance and needs.
- Navigates effectively through complex issues, leveraging expertise and business understanding to recommend solutions. Gains alignment to recommendation and oversee execution.
- Manages multiple stakeholders and multiple priorities, balancing short and long term needs and implications .
- Continuously learns and builds media expertise while becoming fluent in the E. & J. Gallo organization.
- Participates as part of the Agile team in sprint planning sessions and meetings.
- Creatively envisions solutions that meet the needs of the business.
- Collaborates with Manager of Performance Marketing Manager to drive conversion based results, as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree plus 7 years of digital marketing and media experience to include media planning and buying reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor's degree plus 6 years of agency or CPG paid media experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Master’s degree plus 5 years of digital marketing and media experience to include media planning and buying reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Master's degree plus 5 years of agency or CPG paid media experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 11 years of digital marketing and media experience to include media planning and buying reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
- Strong business acumen; ability to connect media to business outcomes and processes
- Strong presentation and negotiations skills to garner support from marketing teams/leadership and persuade them on media recommendations.
- Strong leadership abilities and experience managing teams/cross functional work relationships, both internally and with external agency and media partners.
- Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree plus 8 years of agency or CPG paid media experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Master’s degree plus 7 years of agency or CPG paid media experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
- Client and/or media agency experience.
- Experience influencing the decision making of diverse, high-level stakeholders.
- CPG or Alcohol Beverage industry experience. • Experience managing omni-channel paid media programs for a national CPG, alc bev, or DTC brands.
- Experience managing a large portfolio of brands with a wide variety of budgets with proven success.
- Demonstrable thought leadership on innovation and emerging media.
- Experience in performance driven media, development and implementation of data driven strategies and 1st party data acquisition strategies and media deployment.

Compensation
- Hiring Salary Range: $118,600 - $178,000/Year
- Actual compensation amount paid may be lower or higher to be determined by factors other than race and gender such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
