Summary:
Establishes, plans and administers the overall direction, goals and marketing activities for assigned Gallo business unit(s).
Essential Functions:
- Develops and refines the overall brand marketing strategy including critical capabilities to execute brand priorities distributed through the Malt Network.
- Participates in the development and execution of a long term and annual Brand Plan for portfolio of New Business brands.
- Develops and refines the OGSM, brand playbooks, marketing strategies, and expansion plans.
- Develops close relationships with key customers and distributors sales teams to ensure products across the brand portfolio are positively showcased and promoted.
- Responsible for growing consumer awareness and affinity for each brand according to marketing objectives.
- Manages advertising, promotions, merchandising, and media for existing and new products.
- Approves the creative and comms strategy, campaign idea and communication plan, as well as the final hero assets and is responsible for getting alignment with Portfolio VP and BU leadership.
- Coordinates team of Brand Managers, Innovation Leads, Founders, and agency partners to develop and execute holistic brand plans; including necessary insights, analytics, or financial reviews required to support marketing plan deployment.
- Work closely with Sales, Commerce, Finance and vendor partners to deploy and constantly improve the Commerce & Co-platform specifically for Malt wholesalers, including the long-term capabilities brief for integration into Gallo systems
- Lead the brand founder and agency partner integration into agile process and core crossfunctional routines.
- Manage bi-weekly routine with New Business regional sales directors to continue to build necessary capabilities and tools to execute with excellence with beer wholesalers.
- Ensures all sales materials are prepared, deployed, trained-on and develops a feedback loop with sales partners to continuously diagnose brand tools and improve.
- In coordination with Finance and Sales Planner, determines pricing proposals.
- Participates in the development and execution of a long term and annual Brand Plan for respective brands.
- Establishes key KPIs to evaluate brand health and readiness for expansion and supporting analysis to justify overall A&P spend.
- Scopes and develops incremental agency support and research initiatives needed by the brand teams.
- Provides leadership for the brand group to attract, develop, and retain high quality marketing professionals.
- Develops a successful vision/strategy, and entrepreneurial way of working through strong leadership skills, and agile processes.
- Develops and approves changes to systems, policies, and procedures to best support the portfolios needs.
- Participates in department and interdepartmental planning and management teams and works cross-functionally to improve processes within the organization.
- Develops, maintains and ensures adherence to operating budget and capital spending plan.
- Scopes and manages relationships with outside agencies ensuring alignment with brand goals and objectives and cross-functional team integration as needed
- Owns the A&P budget for assigned brand(s), including commerce allocations.
- Oversees the development and approves the Brand Strategic Positioning (BSP), including the optimal consumer design target and consumption target, Brand Universe and/or brand positioning.
- Identifies and obtains staff capabilities needed to accomplish objectives.
- Oversees projects and capabilities development that have short to long term focus.
- Directs the development and implementation of standards and goals, ensuring they support the organization's business plans.
- Responsible for problem-solving with legal and compliance to define marketing standards for beer & RTDS and ensure brand marketing is executed according to the standards.
- Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations. If accountable for the work of others, responsible for ensuring their understanding and compliance.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree plus 6 years of beer or RTD marketing experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor’s degree plus 8 years of beer or RTD marketing reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor’s degree plus 7 years of Gallo Spirits BU experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 10 years of beer or RTD marketing reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
- Knowledge of the on-premise channel.
- Experience managing total P&L for a group of brands.
- Experience managing large A&P budgets with a diverse marketing mix.
- Experience managing a broad range of stakeholders & multiple external agencies.
- Required to travel up to 25% of the time in-market in order to perform job duties.
- Ability to effectively manage competing priorities and operate with a sense of urgency.
- Prior supervisory experience.
- Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree plus 8 years of marketing, agency, brand ambassador, tasting room, bartender/mixology, restaurant management or spirits sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor’s degree plus 10 years of marketing, agency, brand ambassador, tasting room, bartender/mixology, restaurant management or spirits sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor’s degree plus 9 years of Gallo Spirits BU experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
- 5 years of marketing experience with a focus in scaling small / innovation brands from regional to national scale.
- Experience developing and implementing multiple channel marketing programs; including on premise and small-format / convenience.
- Experience with beer & RTD pricing ladders and pack x price mix development.
- Experience successfully positioning products within highly-competitive categories; knowledge of how to synthesize research and information to create compelling marketing and advertising programs.
- Experience inspiring the best from key support areas such as R&D, advertising agencies, and customers such as Sales.
- Thorough knowledge of using packaging to create compelling competitive differentiation.
- Experience with long-term brand building, as well as classic consumer packaged goods marketing and niche marketing where required.
- Classical training in sophisticated marketing techniques, new product development and introduction, and brand building.
- Experience leading cross-functional workstreams using the agile project management
- Proven success leading and developing teams of people.
- Experience reading, analyzing, and interpreting the most complex documents.
- Experience responding effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
- Experience writing speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style.
- Computer skill requirements include: intermediate MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and database.
- Proficient in IRI, consumer testing platforms, and project management tools
- Experience dealing with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
- Experience working with all levels and functions within the company.

Compensation
- Hiring Salary Range: $67,000 - $100,400/Year
- Actual compensation amount paid may be lower or higher to be determined by factors other than race and gender such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
