Are you looking for an assignment that gets you out of the office and into your accounts? Are you interested in being a part of a competitive sales environment? Would you describe yourself as a team player? As a Merchandiser (Merch) for Gallo Wine Company, you will support and partner with a team of Sales Representatives and collectively grow Gallo’s business in various retail accounts. Your responsibilities include maintaining relationships through face-to-face interactions with customers and merchandising a vast portfolio of wine & spirits that include brands such as Apothic, Barefoot, New Amsterdam Vodka, etc. Ultimately, your responsibility will be to ensure that Gallo’s brands are presented positively in every account.

 

What You Will Do

Display Products:

  • Call on grocery and drug chain accounts, like Albertsons, Ralphs, and Walgreens
  • Be a detective and identify opportunities and locations to cross-merchandise in accounts, outside of the liquor department for incremental sales  
  • Partner with the Sales Representative to merchandise Gallo products to stimulate impulse purchases using eye-catching display pieces (wine barrels, etc.) across the store

Product Maintenance:

  • Maintain shelves and cold case up to standards
  • Ensure inventory levels are sustained, by staying in constant contact with Retailers and Sales Representatives on status of Gallo products
  • Maintain positive brand image throughout each account ensuring cleanliness and proper facing of products
  • Assist with special projects such as store resets, remodels, etc.

What You Need

  • 18 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Ability to successfully pass physical demands testing
  • Ability to lift and move up to 57 pound cases of product
  • Valid driver’s license
  • No more than 2 moving violations within the past 3 years and no DUI/DWI convictions within the past 5 years

  • Skilled merchandising techniques
  • Experience working in a retail sales environment or alcoholic beverage industry
  • Good communication, problem solving, and time management skills
