Candidates must reside or be willing to relocate to either California (primary location) or New York (secondary location) for this opportunity.  This position can work remotely out of those two States, but will need to travel to Gallo facilities as necessary. 

 

Summary

 

Responsible for envisioning and delivering the digital strategy across Gallo brands with a focus on owned properties; inclusive of brand websites, social platforms, addressable audiences and CRM.  Drives the development and implementation of digital marketing strategies that achieve engagement, brand awareness and revenue growth.  Collaborates with brand, in house, and external teams to ensure that our digital approach is aligned with brand pillars, marketing objectives and business goals.  Oversees a team responsible for holistic program planning, briefing and performance across CRM which includes email marketing and on-line consumer journeys, SEO and website management and social strategy & execution. Defines digital marketing KPIs and leads the development, recommendation and implementation of new opportunities that advance Gallo’s digital capabilities and provide competitive advantage to the Winery.  Serves as a change agent to bring digital thinking and make end to end consumer experiences a priority for the organization. 

 

Essential Functions

 

  • Develops and leads digital marketing strategy and execution across CRM and email marketing, social media, SEO, web and content marketing.
  • Manages the user experience of the website including site navigation, content development, checkout funnel and promotional campaigns. 
  • Works with Insights and Analytics team to Manage all aspects of web and social performance to communicate relevant information to team members, executive leadership and cross-functional partners. 
  • Builds and directs a cohesive team of internal and external personnel to effectively develop, execute, and manage Digital marketing for Gallo brands.
  • Provides expertise on current digital marketing industry best practices, overall digital trends and competitive understanding in the alc/bev space.
  • Consults on cross-functional projects to ensure digital marketing principles are incorporated.
  • Develops and leads digital marketing strategy and execution across CRM and email marketing, social media, SEO, web and content marketing.

  • Develops and oversees marketing and communication channels (CRM, Web, social) to include processes & cross functional partnerships, systems, best practices, and managing a team responsible for optimizing, governing, and publishing content on owned channels.
  • Educates colleagues internally and externally on the digital landscape, processes, and strategies. Provides marketplace expertise and education to the Winery.
  • Works with IT and Digital team to optimize E-Commerce software and CRM capabilities. 
  • Maintains staffing levels for current and anticipated needs. 
  • Ensures employee conformance to established best practices and proper training of staff. 
  • Identifies and obtains staff capabilities needed to accomplish objectives. 
  • Maintains a succession plan to ensure proper development and experience levels of personnel. 
  • Develops a successful vision/strategy, through strong leadership skills. 
  • Directs the development and implementation of standards and goals, ensuring they support the organization’s business plans. 
  • Participates in department and interdepartmental planning and management teams, and works cross-functionally to improve processes within the organization. 
  • Develops, maintains and assures adherence to operating budget and capital spending plan. 
  • Manages relationships with external agencies and vendors through negotiating contracts, managing performance, metrics and identifying opportunities for collaboration and mutual growth.
  • Tracks and reviews performance to generate recommendations based on learnings, established best practices and competitive landscape.
  • Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations. If accountable for the work of others, responsible for ensuring their understanding and compliance.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree plus 10 years of digital marketing experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Master’s degree plus 8 years of digital marketing experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 14 years of digital marketing experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility. 
  • Supervisory or managerial experience. 
  • Experience overseeing multiple digital platforms to include web and social across different formats and channels. 
  • Deep understanding of evolving digital landscape, cross-industry brand knowledge, and a high degree of creativity.
  • Outstanding analytical skills, strong experience interpreting test results & drawing conclusions.
  • Expertise in customer acquisition, engagement, and retention.
  • Experience with SEO, SEM, and content optimization.
  • Experience building and leading a high performing digital marketing team in a consumer-facing industry.
  • Understanding of paid social media landscape and trends. 
  • Experience with e-commerce and direct to consumer marketing and the integration of digital channels into holistic digital marketing plans.
  • Proven track record of developing CRM campaigns including automated campaigns.
  • Familiar with Digital Transformation industry; knowledge of content management systems (CMS), Marketing Automation (MA), Commerce / Omni-Channel solutions is required.
  • Proven success in defining digital marketing strategies in support of business and corporate objectives, including the development, execution, and measurement of attribution marketing programs (direct to consumer).
  • Proven track record of Managing outside vendors and keeping them on track and within budget.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal communication, teamwork and project management skills required.
  • Ability to influence and build strong relationships across the organization.
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies.
  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree plus 12 years of digital marketing or e-commerce experience to include supervisory or managerial experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • 5+ years of digital marketing leadership experience with a CPG or alcohol beverage company.
  • Keen understanding of digital drivers and how to capture and analyze data to successfully inform strategies and plans.
  • Curiosity and a desire to constantly test, learn and optimize.
  • Resourceful, entrepreneurial spirit with a drive for results.
  • Strong critical problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Adept at communicating with leadership and peers to create common understanding and buy-in experience designing and deploying digital marketing strategies within a real-time decisioning environment.
  • Strong understanding of the latest marketing automation technology – including but not limited to CRM, Salesforce, Web, Mobile, Tablet, social – and strong ability to communicate with engineers and integrators.
  • Excellent relationship building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proactive self-starter with high level of initiative and ability to direct a team on multiple concurrent projects and ensure follow-through while delivering high quality.
  • Track record for growing consumer businesses and getting results.
  • Ability to synthesize complex concepts in simple terms.
  • Familiar with analytical techniques in support of multi-channel marketing including profiling, segmentation, analysis, and modeling.
  • Experienced in identifying and documenting business requirements for new marketing programs.
  • Familiar with best of breed digital marketing tools including social media monitoring and publishing, business intelligence, campaign management, digital analytics, content management, and offer management.
  • Experience managing employees who have technical skills in Salesforce Marketing Cloud, CRM, HTML, UX, Web/mobile design and social media publishing platforms.
  • Experience staffing and developing an organization.
  • Leadership/management strength to provide motivational guidance and direction.

Compensation

  • Hiring Salary Range: $174,450 - $290,750/Year. 
  • Actual compensation amount paid may be lower or higher to be determined by factors other than race and gender such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
