A Taste of What You'll Do
Join our team as a Senior Project Analyst, Category Development and transform complex market and consumer data into insights that shape category strategy and drive growth. You will serve as a trusted analytical partner, identifying key wine and spirits trends, uncovering opportunities, and helping customer development teams make informed decisions for an assigned account.
In this role, you will use industry databases and analytical tools to create scorecards, market analyses, sales forecasts, merchandising strategies, and Plan-O-Grams. You will present findings and recommendations to senior leadership, influencing product mix, distribution, pricing, promotions, shelf placement, and other in-store activities.
You will also manage category development processes and project timelines, improve analytical methods and reporting, contribute to new item presentations and annual business reviews, and provide guidance to junior team members and sales personnel. Working across teams, you will help solve business challenges, establish best practices, and advance special projects.

What You'll Need
- Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of sales or category development experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of Gallo winery or distributer sales or category development experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Associate’s degree plus 5 years of sales or category development experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 7 years of sales or category development experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
- Skilled in the use and application of data and data tools-IRI, Scan data, Nielsen, Household Panel, Spectra, sales data, Trade Dimensions, consumer data, MS Access and other query tools.
- Computer skill requirements include: intermediate MS Word, MS PowerPoint and MS Excel.
- Required to obtain Liquor License as required by state/locality.
- Required to travel by air and car as part of job duties.
- Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
- Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
How You'll Stand Out
- Bachelor’s degree in Food & Consumer Product Goods or Food Marketing plus 5 years of sales or category development experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of Gallo winery sales or affiliated or non-affiliated distributor sales or category development experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility. 3 years Gallo Category development experience.
- 3 years of Gallo Category development experience.
- Experience leading multiple project simultaneously.

The Fine Print

- We offer a broad salary range to allow for long-term growth. Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by multiple factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed between the entry point and middle of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. In addition to the salary, this position may be eligible for bonuses, incentive plans, or participate in tasting room tip pools, as applicable.
- This position will be based in the location(s) specified in the job posting and requires regular travel within your assigned territory. Occasional travel to company sites may be required as needed.
