SUMMARY
Represents the company at lunches, dinners, special events and wine/spirits tastings by presenting information about company products as well as the company itself. Also, is responsible for leading guided educational tours of the vineyards and the winery as well as providing wine/spirit educational overlays and receptions for guests.
What You Will Do:

  • Educates guests ranging from senior sales management, wine merchants and trade groups, to general winery staff, consumers and community groups on company history and technical wine knowledge.
  • Researches, develops, composes, coordinates and hosts trade visitor programs, ensuring the experience is “best in class” for each guest.
  • Provides expert responses to questions regarding winegrowing, winemaking and seasonal activities in vineyard and winery, as well as distinctions between varieties, brands, regions and producers from around the world.
  • Executes premium wine service and education during on-site meals.
  • Generates and facilitates additional educational offerings that support both wine and spirit brands
  • Participates in development of new employee training, tour content and procedures.
  • Coordinates with our catering partners to execute formal meal service.
  • Completes proper documentation, such as tour summaries, tour evaluations, catering evaluations, database management and general correspondence.
  • Oversees managing aesthetics of the property as well as maintaining wine and equipment inventories.
  • Plans and executes large-scale, on property events.
  • Maintains satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.
  • Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations. If accountable for the work of others, responsible for ensuring their understanding and compliance.

What You Will Need:

  • High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate.
  • Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of hospitality, public relations, corporate communications or sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility OR Bachelor’s degree plus 1 year of Gallo Winery marketing/marketing services or sales or Gallo Distributor marketing or sales experience.
  • Candidates for this position must have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record. Required to obtain a California driver’s license or appropriate state driver’s license within 30 days of hire.
  • Required to be at least 21 years of age.
  • Required to frequently lift and move cases of product which weighs up to 40 pounds.
  • Required to work evenings, weekends and occasional holidays.
  • Required to perform strenuous outdoor physical activities (noted below under physical demands section).

What Will Set You Apart:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of wine hospitality experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Gallo Sales District Manager or Gallo Marketing experience.
  • Wine or spirits industry experience.
  • Public speaking experience.
  • Strong interest and passion for developing expertise in wine and food.
  • Experience with maintaining a professional demeanor that positively reflects on the company.
  • Experience with writing reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Experience with effectively presenting brand and wine information and responding to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public, ranging in size from 1-50 guests.
  • Computer skills to include intermediate MS Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
  • Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Skilled in computing ratio and percent, and drawing and interpreting bar graphs.
  • Skilled in solving practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Experience interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Experience with performing work that is varied in nature, requiring frequent evaluation, originality or ingenuity.
  • Knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of this field of specialization.
