Located at Romabuer Vineyards, the Maintenance Tech will provide mechanical maintenance and repair support for Rombauer operations.

 

Compensation:

  • Hiring Salary Range Posted: $33.65 - $45.38/ hr 
  • Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.

What You Will Do:

  •     Participates in machinery trouble-shooting; documents repairs made.
  •     Replaces or repairs defective parts.
  •     Conducts Inspections: Check fire extinguishers, run fire pump, emergency lights. inspection and repairs lights fixtures, perform and install new electrical and repairs, run and inspect power generator, elevator inspections. 
  •     Building inspections, and repairs: Roofs, gutters, all types of roof repairs.
  •     Construction repairs: install sheetrock, All types of construction.
  •     Harvest
    •     Cleans/Maintains harvest presses and harvest equipment
    •     Driving Class A Truck to dispose of Pomus to vineyards or waste facility
    •     Fixes and addresses any issues that may arise during harvest including: fixing tank thermostats, wine pumps, forklifts/scissor lifts
  •     Bottling Line (during bottling)
    •     Operates bottling machinery, filler, labeler, palletize and all aspects of the bottling line
    •     Maintains, fixes and repairs bottling machinery
    •     Responsible for setting up bottling line for production
  •     Reassembles equipment and tests for conformance to specifications.
  •     Works on assigned projects; responds to emergency maintenance calls.
  •     Disassembles malfunctioning equipment; examines and tests mechanisms on large and small pieces of machinery.
  •     Inspects, tests and calibrates instruments.
  •     Tests equipment and adjusts calibration to ensure equipment is functioning within specified standards.
  •     Interprets technical documents (prints, manuals) as required.
  •     Maintains constructive cross-functional relationships.
  •     Searches for and executes against continuous improvement opportunities.
  •     Performs basic electrical installation; installs wiring and conduit safely in compliance with company, state, & federal regulations.
  •     Performs basic plumbing and piping operations.
  •     Operates machining tools and drill presses; performs basic welding operations.
  •     Services pumps and drive system components.
  •     Troubleshoots basic alarms related to key winery systems.
  •     Provides preventative maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting services for barrel processing equipment, bottling line equipment, and filtration equipment.
  •     Provides preventative maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting services for de-stemmers, presses, and crush pits.
  •     Maintains shop machines, tools and facilities.
  •     Promotes occupational safety standards; gives others feedback on their safety performance.
  •     Operates electrical test equipment, hand tools, and power tools safely.
  •     Provides general facility maintenance and servicing for other departments, including making and recording routine inspections.
  •     Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations.

 

What You Will Need:

  •     High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 2 years of maintenance experience working on equipment or industrial motors and pumps reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Associates degree or 2-year Technical Degree in Mechanical or Automotive Maintenance and Repair plus 1 year of maintenance experience working on equipment or industrial motors and pumps reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  •     Experience working in a manufacturing, production, industrial mechanical or automotive environment.
  •     Required to complete and maintain certifications as assigned.
  •     Candidates for this position must have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record. Required to obtain a California driver’s license or appropriate state driver’s license within 30 days of hire.
  •     Required to work assigned shift (day, swing, and graveyard) and weekends and overtime as needed.
  •     Required to conduct work at heights.
  •     Required to lift and carry tools and equipment that weighs up-to 50 pounds.
  •     Required to work in a tight and confined space.
  •     Required to provide own basic hand tools.
  •     Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  •     Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
  •     Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

 

What Will Set You Apart:

  •     High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 4 years of maintenance experience working on equipment or industrial motors and pumps reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Associates degree or 2-year Technical Degree in Mechanical or Automotive Maintenance and Repair plus 3 years of maintenance experience working on equipment or industrial motors and pumps reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  •     Industrial trade experience to include Refrigeration and HVAC.
  •     Skilled in reading electrical schematics; possess PLC skills.    
  •     Experience working in a food and beverage manufacturing facility.
