If you enjoy working with multi-disciplinary teams, telling a good story and starting a conversation, we want to hear from you. As a Brand Content Writer, you’ll help craft the voice of our wine and spirit products. You’ll bring each brand to life in creative and interesting ways across a variety of outlets—social media, websites, print ads, videos, email campaigns and more. You’ll be part of the Brand Public Relations team, focusing on the development of key communications and content for our portfolio of wine and spirits. 

 

What You Will Do

Brand PR Content Development:

  • Writing creative and captivating content that is consistent in style, quality, and tone of voice
  • Collaborating with key cross functional partners will give you the edge in developing content and editorial strategies that maximize the reach and impact of content
  • By developing compelling content, you’ll help support marketing strategies across a diverse portfolio of wine and spirits
  • Your content will act as the voice of the brand(s) in a wide variety of mediums, such as websites, microsites, social media (i.e. Facebook, Instagram, etc.), videos and media outreach
  • Research and measure the effectiveness of marketing communication programs to ensure your content resonates with our audiences

Team Organization:

  • Come be a part of a dynamic team of content professionals and creators
  • Every day, you get to collaborate with cross-functional partners, such as Brand Management, Creative Services, and Direct to Consumer, and work effectively in the development and execution of content

 

What You Need

 

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of copywriting, communications, public relations, event management, brand marketing, or wine sales management experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility
  • Required to submit writing samples of your own work upon request.
  • Experience writing brand copy, including press kits, speeches, articles, digital and social content, using original or innovative techniques or style.
  • Skilled in reading, analyzing, and interpreting the most complex documents.
  • Experience responding effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints from the media, clients, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Experience making effective and persuasive speeches and presentations to key cross-functional partners.
  • Skilled in the use of MS Word at an advanced level; MS Excel an intermediate level; MS Access and PowerPoint a basic level.
  • Skilled in the use of social media platforms (blogs, Facebook, Twitter, etc.).
  • High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate

 

What Will Set You Apart

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, or Public Relations, or English plus 4 years of copywriting, communications, or public relations reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • E. & J. Gallo Winery sales, marketing, or public relations experience.
  • Skilled in applying concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Skilled in applying principles of logical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
  • Skilled in dealing with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of and skilled in applying principles, practices and procedures of this particular field of specialization to the completion of complex assignments.
  • Skilled in operating with substantial latitude for un-reviewed action or decision, has responsibility for all aspects of difficult projects that are broad in nature and require originality and ingenuity.
  • Experience working with all levels and functions within the company.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with effectively influencing across multiple organizational boundaries and position levels.
  • Skilled in understanding the interface between communications strategies and brand marketing strategies.
  • Skilled in understanding promotional events and their strategic interface with marketing strategies.
  • Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures to include composing and formatting correspondence and business proposals.
  • Excellent telephone, customer service, and presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Strong sense of urgency and creativity.
  • Detail-orientation and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of wine industry.
  • Skilled in performing work that is varied and somewhat difficult in character, usually involving limited responsibility, requiring frequent evaluation, originality or ingenuity
