Are you ready to lead a dynamic team in a cutting-edge warehouse environment? Gallo’s Modesto Warehouse is seeking a dedicated Maintenance & Controls Manager who will manage, plan, and ensure the successful execution of all maintenance and control operations within our Warehouse and MSC departments. Your role will be pivotal in achieving department objectives while maintaining the highest service standards.

 

In this role, you will oversee a team responsible for monitoring automated controls, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and applying effective solutions. You will plan and supervise maintenance and controls operations to ensure that team goals and objectives are met either directly or through subordinate staff. Developing and maintaining an operating budget, you will also create plans for the efficient use of materials, equipment, and resources.

 

Your collaboration with engineering disciplines will be crucial as you develop and apply PLC controls, data collection, and IT systems to enhance production quality and efficiency. You will lead a diverse team of union and non-union employees, estimating personnel needs to meet production schedules and ensuring adequate staffing. By developing ongoing performance management and feedback systems, you will foster a culture of continuous improvement and drive automation advancements.

 

Your participation in department and interdepartmental planning and management teams will be essential in improving processes across the organization. You will also be tasked with executing maintenance capital projects, providing automation and controls advice to cross-functional teams, and ensuring employee conformance to best practices and proper training.

 

As a leader, you will be responsible for developing the technical capabilities of team leaders and staff members, balancing planning efforts with day-to-day demands, and ensuring compliance with quality, environmental, and safety regulations. Additionally, you will develop, coach, and mentor peers and subordinate staff, conducting performance evaluations and addressing any issues that arise.

 

Ideal candidates will have a solid mixture of both maintenance and hands-on direct controls experience.

What You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline plus 5 combined years of maintenance and controls operations experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 9 years of maintenance and controls operations experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Supervisory or managerial experience
  • Experience effectively presenting information to organizational leaders.
  • Experience defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts and drawing valid conclusions.
  • Required to respond to and/or address matters covering all shifts
  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
  • Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

 

What Will Set You Apart

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or operations management plus 8 years of maintenance AND controls operations experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Knowledge of motor control and automated control circuits.
  • Knowledge of HMI, SCADA and computer network communication systems.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Experience defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts and drawing solid conclusions.
     

Compensation:

  • Hiring Salary Range Posted: $118,600 - $178,000  / year
  • Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
