Shift: Rotating shift schedule between day shift and night shift

Join the dynamic team at Gallo Glass as a Temporary Senior Scheduling Clerk and be a vital part of our operations. In this role, you will manage the scheduling of manpower for our Glass hourly employees, ensuring smooth operations and optimal staffing levels. Your responsibilities will include tracking and generating reports related to employee training, attendance, and vacation scheduling. You will work closely with manufacturing and warehouse leaders to address staffing needs, communicate overtime requirements, and coordinate daily line-ups.


As a key player in our team, you will post and adjust manning schedules, complete shift summaries, and report attendance incidents. Your coordination skills will be essential in scheduling training activities and supporting manufacturing. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate payroll records, entering timecard corrections, and tracking hourly vacations. Additionally, you will provide training on vacation requests, absence forms, and timecard corrections, resolving most questions and referring complex issues to higher levels.


Your support to Human Resources and Plant Leaders will be crucial in the daily and weekly payroll process for our union workforce. You will answer time and attendance inquiries, coordinate overtime interests, and run quarterly mock fire drills. Managing safety shoe payments, locker assignments, service awards, and wine orders for journeymen will also be part of your duties. You will keep plant communication boards updated, file relevant materials, and ensure office supplies are adequately stocked.

Your role will require accurate data entry and maintenance of computerized files, producing reports, and performing various administrative tasks. Maintaining satisfactory attendance and understanding applicable quality, environmental, and safety regulations will be essential. What You Need

  • High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 2 years of industrial relations support, administrative support, payroll support, or production scheduling experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Experience handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Experience communicating professionally with employees regarding scheduling.
  • Possess good organizational skills/record keeping skills and skills in multi-tasking.
  • Required to work scheduled shift (day, swing or graveyard) and alternative work schedules, if applicable.
  • Required to work overtime, weekends and holidays.
  • Experience performing data entry on a PC and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Skilled in reading, comprehending, interpreting and executing simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Skilled in writing simple correspondence.
  • Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing using whole numbers and increments of time.
  • Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

 

What Will Set You Apart

  • Bachelor of Business Administration degree.
  • 4 years of administrative support, payroll support, production scheduling, or industrial relations experience in a union integrated facility.
  • Skilled in the use of MS Word and MS Excel at an intermediate level.
  • Gallo production and operations experience.
  • Customer service or production/manufacturing experience.
  • Experience answering questions and performing tasks that arise in a union workplace.
  • Experience reading and interpreting the language in union contracts.
  • Experience working under pressure, meeting aggressive deadlines and making sound decisions.
  • Experience working independently with little or no supervision.
  • Skilled in maintaining accuracy and flexibility under varied time, priority and job assignment changes.
  • Experience reading and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Experience writing routine reports, correspondence and procedures.
  • Experience effectively presenting information and responding to questions in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization at many levels.
  • Experience using discretion when dealing with confidential information.
  • Experience working with ADP timekeeping software.

Compensation:

  • Hiring Salary Range Posted: $22.45 - $30.34 / hour
  • Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
