As a Senior Compensation Analyst, you will administer and provide strategic support to the corporate compensation programs and philosophies that are a key part in Gallo's goal to attract, motivate and retain great employees.

 

What You Will Do

 

Compensation Analysis

  • Participate in the development and support of company compensation infrastructure including preparing job descriptions, market pricing, job evaluation process, and documentation.
  • Contribute to external compensation surveys to provide detailed analysis on competitive position, trends and compliance.
  • Participate in the design, development, implementation, support and administration of incentive pay programs.
  • Participate in Executive Salary Administration Program.
  • Oversee periodic system upgrades, evaluates impact to Compensation process, writes test scripts, ensure data integrity.

 

Client Partnership

  • Provide counsel to management and HR business partners in the review of pay changes and reviews salary adjustment recommendations to ensure compliance with established guidelines, policies and practices.
  • Partner with HR business partners and clients in the development of or restructure of jobs and job family career pathing.
  • Review key job duties and accountabilities to determine appropriate FLSA classifications to ensure company compliance with federal and state laws.
  • Conduct, develop and participate in compensation communication and training to include HR and Talent Acquisition staff.

 

Special and Annual Projects

  • Participate in the Annual Salary Planning Program.
  • Responsible for system production of annual Budget and Salary Planners, ensuring accuracy of data. 
  • Contribute in the development, administration and support of the compensation software system.
  • Participate in compensation audits and performs analysis to evaluate jobs to ensure equitable wage and salary rates, both internally and externally.
  • Review key job duties and accountabilities to determine appropriate FLSA classifications to ensure company compliance with federal and state laws.
  • Perform compensation analysis for government regulatory compliance.
  • Participate in the development and continuous improvement of department guidelines, practices, procedures and performance metrics.
  • Lead special compensation and business related studies and projects to ensure and maintain consistency and competitiveness of programs across the organization.
  • Participate in the development and delivery of presentations relative to compensation training, education and compliance.

What You Need

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, or Economics plus 5 years of experience in Human Resources, Compensation Administration, Finance, Economics or Mathematics reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; or Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics or Quantitative Methods plus 5 years of experience in Human Resources, Compensation Administration, Finance, Economics or Mathematics reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; or 9 years of experience in Human Resources or Finance to include experience in Compensation reflecting increasing levels of responsibility. 
  • Strong analytical and complex problem solving skills; takes a new perspective using existing solutions.
  • Detail driven individual with emphasis on accuracy, coupled with ability to see the broader picture and summarize complex data.
  • Broad working knowledge of compensation principles, practices and procedures.
  • Responsible for working with highly sensitive and confidential information and maintaining the confidentiality of the information used during the normal course of business.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Skilled in juggling multiple tasks while still delivering high quality results.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer skill requirements include: intermediate MS Word, MS Excel and database; basic MS PowerPoint.

What Will Set You Apart

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, or Economics plus 3 years of experience in Human Resources, Compensation Administration, Job Evaluation, Market Pricing or Finance reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Consulting experience working for a major consulting house/firm.
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or Global Remuneration Professional (GRP).
  • Experienced in Lean Six Sigma problem solving methodologies or LSS certified.
  • Experience reading, analyzing and interpreting general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.  Skilled in writing reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.  Skilled in effectively presenting information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
  • Experience working with mathematical concepts such as statistical inference.  Skilled in applying concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.   Experience calculating figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Experience applying concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • MS Access and Oracle or PeopleSoft HRIS system experience.
  • Advanced computer skills in Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Skilled in solving practical problems and dealing with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Skilled in interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Applies established procedures to situations that are non-routine in nature requiring some evaluation, critical thinking, originality or ingenuity.
