As an Operations Manager you will have 24 hour responsibility for your team performance. Your focus will be to ensuring teams are executing activities that safely deliver superior quality and quantity, on time, continuously and efficiently, at the lowest cost.  You will support your teams’ utilization of Lean methodologies and tools to continuously improve business processes and drive out waste. You will maintain a broad influence on the organization both cross-shift and cross-functionally in helping to manage the business and drive improved performance.
What You Will Do

Leadership Development

  • Manages safety, quality, service and cost performance within assigned area (24/5 schedule with 65+ team members)
  • Implements safety, security and sanitation programs
  • Develops staff capabilities ensuing achievement of performance goals and objectives.
  • Participates in department and interdepartmental planning and management teams and works cross-functionally to improve processes within the organization.
  • Develop labor strategies that align with business priorities to increase productivity

Continuous Improvement

  • Makes recommendations to senior management on long range labor strategies and capital equipment needs.
  • Recommends, supports, justifies and leads the implementation of equipment or facility layout changes.
  • Develops and maintains operating budget and capital spending plans for assigned area of responsibility.
  • Champion the 4E’s (Engages, Enlists, Envisions, and Executes)
  • Works cross-functionally to improve processes within the organization
  • Support Lean Enterprise and Kaizen teams
  • Manages daily product value stream, recommending and implementing product flow stoppers

What You Need

  • Master’s degree plus 6 years of production, business operations, engineering, or logistics management experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility -OR- Bachelor's degree plus 8 years of production, operations, or logistics management experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility - OR- Bachelor’s degree plus 9 years of military operations and leadership experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility -OR- High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution plus 12 years of production, operations, or logistics management experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Required to possess supervisory or management experience

What Will Set You Apart

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or Business Administration plus 6 years of production, business operations, engineering, or logistics management experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility -OR- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business Administration plus 8 years of production, operations, or logistics management experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Experience working in a Union and/or consumer product goods environment
  • Experience applying LEAN methodology
