As a Senior Winemaker in Co-Manufacturing, you will influence the full spectrum of the winemaking processes, from growing grapes (raw materials) through the delivery to the consumer. You will function as Winemaking’s day to day representative through the entire life cycle of outsourced wine supply and co-manufacturing and international projects.

What You Will Do

Cross Functional Interaction-

  • Winemaking assessment and qualification of potential Global wine suppliers and Co -Manufacturers.
  • Ensures quality and stylistic fitness for purpose of Gallo’s wines
  • Winemaking’s primary day to day contact for Co-Manufacturers and International Partners

Product Integrity Management

  • Collaborate with Quality to ensure all Suppliers and Co-Manufacturing facilities are operating in compliance to Gallo standards
  • Conducts periodic review of bulk inventory, packaged goods and processes
  • Maintains records that ensures Gallo regulatory Compliance of wine production is met

Inventory and Production Logistics

  • Ensures timely and efficient transfer and production to meet production schedules.
  • Supports the co-ordination and supply of wines to meet Co-Manufacturing production
  • Implements and sustains validation and risk grid analysis for International partners and Co-Manufacturers

What You Need

  • High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science, Enology, Fermentation Science, winemaking, fermentation science, Food Science, Engineering, Enology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biological Engineering or Biology plus 8 years of quality assurance, Enology, Winemaking, or Chemistry experience reflecting increasing levels or responsibility.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in wine chemistry and cellar and bottling operations from the vineyard through bottling.
  • Required to be of legal alcohol consumption age (21 years of age or older).
  • Valid driver’s license and successful completion of background check. Required to obtain a California driver’s license or appropriate state driver’s license within 30 days of hire.
  • Required to lift and move up to 35 pounds.

What Will Set You Apart

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science, Enology, Fermentation Science, Winemaking, Chemistry, Microbiology or Biology, plus 12 years of Quality Assurance, Enology, Winemaking, or Chemistry experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Master’s Degree
  • Experienced in working with all levels and functions within an Organization, from the Cellar floor, Bottling, through management.
  • Strong leadership skills and verbal & written communication skills
  • Experience with operating with substantial latitude for un-reviewed action or decision,
  •  Strong working knowledge of all winemaking equipment, processes and procedures.
  • Strong working knowledge of enology, wine production, blending, Wine Governing Compliance, bottling production/equipment and wine transportation
  • Experience with managing work schedules and setting priorities
