Are you an ambitious technician who has passion for art production and unmatched attention to detail?  As a part of the Production team you will work to provide error-free, ready to print electronic mechanical artwork files for assigned business units in both Packaging and POS. You’ll provide support to the overall efforts of the production team adhering to timelines and assigned project budgets.

What you’ll do:

Pre-Press Production

  • Create final files for press using Adobe Creative Suite Applications
  • Use Adobe Creative Suite to correct inconsistencies and mistakes in final art before it’s released
  • Build and strategically extend approved designs across flavor/varietal size extensions
  • Prepare printing specifications and label die guides; review with printing vendors, project managers and department leadership

Quality Assurance

  • Conduct QC checks using “ProofPass” system, verifying all proofing integrity and standards.
  • Proofread artwork for all assigned tasks before forwarding files through electronic approval routing system.
  • Participate in review of color draw-downs and printing tests.
  • Review all incoming production label samples, benchmarking against color standards for accuracy.
  • Improves the effectiveness of systems, policies and procedures.

Communication and Team Support

  • Communicate construction / production issues with other departments.
  • Support design and project management team with assorted requests.
  • Support the creation of comparables for presentations, research, sales samples and other requests.
  • Update supervisor of team workload and support the creation of project spec writing.

What we are looking for:

  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Bachelors of Fine Arts Degree in Graphic Design or Graphic Communication plus 3 years of packaging/POS pre-press design experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility OR 7 years of packaging pre-press design experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Skilled in the use of Adobe Creative Suite CC at a basic level.
  • Skilled in 4/C print production and knowledge in Pantone and custom color mixes.
  • Knowledge of pre-press and printing technologies for all packaging components.

What will set you apart:

  • Bachelors of Fine Arts Degree in Graphic Design or Graphic Communication plus 5 years of packaging/POS pre-press design experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Beverage industry experience.
  • Skilled in the use of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator and proficient in Adobe Acrobat, InDesign, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint at an advanced level.
  • Knowledge of printing technologies for all packaging components.
  • Knowledge of vendor capabilities and limitations.
  • Advanced understanding of winery production and package component manufacturing.
  • Experience creating and evaluating comparables.
  • Skilled in discerning subtle color and printing distinctions.
