A Taste of What You’ll Do

Join the Creative production team at GALLO where precision, quality, and innovation come together to bring packaging and point-of-sale materials to life. As a Pre Press Technician, you'll play a key role in creating accurate, legally compliant production artwork that supports some of the industry's most recognized brands. Working closely with creative, design, and client partnership teams, you'll help ensure artwork is production-ready, visually consistent, and delivered on time.

 

In this role, you'll prepare, verify, and proofread packaging files while extending approved designs across product variations and size formats. You'll use Adobe Creative Cloud applications to refine artwork, maintain organized project files, and support internal stakeholders with a variety of production needs. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will help ensure every project meets regulatory requirements and production standards.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Graphic Communication, or Printing Technology plus 1 year of packaging pre-press design or print file preparation experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Associate degree in Graphic Design, Graphic Communication, or Printing Technology plus 3 years of packaging pre-press design or print file preparation experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 5 years of packaging pre-press design or print file preparation experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Skilled in pre-press and printing technologies for all packaging components and/or point of sale artwork.
  • Skilled in reading and interpreting technical documents.
  • Skilled in writing routine reports and correspondence.
  • Skilled in applying common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Skilled in dealing with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Skilled in the use of Adobe Creative Cloud applications at a basic level.
  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
  • Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

 

How You’ll Stand Out

  • Bachelors of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design or Graphic Communication plus 3 years of packaging pre-press design experience.
  • Beverage industry experience.
  • Skilled in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator and proficient in Adobe Acrobat, InDesign, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of vendor capabilities and limitations.
  • Advanced understanding of winery production and package component manufacturing.
  • Experience learning new industry, company, product and technical knowledge.
  • Skilled in discerning subtle color and printing distinctions.
  • Experience with managing multiple projects and working well under pressure with little supervision.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and follow-through; experience with multi-tasking under tight time constraints.

  • We offer a broad salary range to allow for long-term growth. Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by multiple factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed between the entry point and middle of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. In addition to the salary, this position may be eligible for bonuses, incentive plans, or participate in tasting room tip pools, as applicable.
  • This position will be based in the location(s) specified in the job posting with an option for occasional telecommuting. You will be expected to live within a commutable distance.
