As a Performance Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for driving traffic, growth and conversion opportunities by overseeing the daily execution of marketing strategies to drive acquisition and retention for E. & J. Gallo brands online. You will partner with both agency and internal partners to manage the day-to-day performance of digital marketing channels, including paid search, affiliate, display re-targeting and some aspects of social media.  This individual will use data and analytics to understand the E. & J. Gallo online consumer journey from awareness to conversion, and leverage insights to unlock new growth and conversion opportunities. This position will report to the Director of Paid Media and will support our eCommerce business and Enterprise wide initiatives.

 

This role has flexibility to be based in NY or CA.

 

What You Will Do

 

  • Grows digital acquisition and revenue: holds direct responsibility for driving traffic, conversion and ROI for digital acquisition channels including paid search, affiliate, remarketing, display and some social media.
  • Continuously maximizes and seeks optimization and growth through performance analysis, A/B and multivariate testing, customer segmentation, creative partnership, landing page optimization and more.
  • Creates and develops omni channel strategies to drive brand growth from all channels including geo-targeting, cross channel purchasing, email acquisition and other omni channel customer segmentation opportunities.
  • Identifies and advocates for media strategies and tactics that drive the highest ROAS and links media delivery and insights to brand objectives and results.
  • Partners with the Analytics team and agency partners to track trends, benchmarks, opportunities, competitive tactics, best practices, tools/platforms, etc.
  • Develops acquisition campaigns and partnerships working collaboratively with brand marketing, eCommerce, and CRM teams to identify and lead large scale, multi-channel 360 acquisition campaigns.
  • Responsible for communicating on performance trends and results by informing senior leadership on a weekly/monthly/quarterly basis highlighting opportunities or trends for continuous improvement.
  • Delivers ongoing paid media thought leadership and education to marketing partners through the development and deployment of paid media best practices for the Enterprise.
  • Authors content that increases the acumen of the broader Gallo marketing community delivered through both formal and informal trainings.
  • Develops integrated pay-per-click (PPC) strategy playbook for the Gallo enterprise that drives the business forward efficiently and at scale, to include organic search and its role relative to paid search
  • Serves as thought leader and subject matter expert and shares and implements best practices for performance media.
  • Monitors the media marketplace and Alc Bev industry competitors to identify trends and testing opportunities.
  • Collaborates closely with SEO subject matter expert to ensure seamless and integrated search strategies.
  • Actively participates in Integrated Marketing Planning (IMP) process. Participates in department and interdepartmental planning and management teams; Work with cross functional partner teams/agencies to align objectives and develop integrated connection campaigns.
  • Establishes, tracks, and reports on KPI’s such as search engine results page (SERP) ranking, keyword traffic, and sales performance and makes recommendations for improvements as needed.
  • Creates and communicates search strategy briefs for brands and campaigns.
  • Responsible for managing agency performance for key channels including paid search, affiliates, remarketing, social media, display. Manages search agency for flawless execution, continual improvement of KPI’s and actionable insights and reporting. Works closely with agency to understand budget thresholds.
  • Participates as part of the Agile team in sprint planning sessions and meetings as needed.
  • Owns relationship with Google and other search engine platforms to ensure Gallo understands their new product updates and BETA program for best practice leveraging.
  • Evaluates new media opportunities, technologies and platforms to assist in assessment and execution of marketing initiatives and ROI. For paid search, evaluate capabilities of retailer paid search platforms (e.g: Criteo, Mi9, etc)
  • Collaborates closely with paid media team to ensure a holistic approach to support Brand marketing objectives.
  • Maintains a solid understanding of compliance within the adult beverage industry ensuring that all search strategies and activities are fully compliant with company risk being minimized or altogether nullified.

 

What You Will Need

           

  • Master’s degree plus 5 years of digital marketing and media marketing experience to include e-Commerce experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor’s degree plus 7 years of digital marketing and media marketing experience to include e-Commerce reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Exceptional understanding of all aspects of digital marketing and analytics, especially paid search, affiliate, display, retargeting, email and social media.
  • Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams of media, marketers and analytics.
  • Proficiency in digital trends, best practices and measuring campaigns against KPIs.
  • Robust quantitative skills including forecasting ability and ROI analyses – demonstrated ability to apply logical thought process to problem solving, draw conclusions, act accordingly and deliver recommendations.
  • Skilled in optimizing digital media: CPM/display ads, retargeting, sponsored products, shopping, PPC, etc.
  • Experience in agency management with proven track record for building relationships and managing performance of key partners.
  • Proven ability to oversee multiple, high profile projects end-to-end and on time in a highly dynamic, collaborative and matrixed environment.
  • Experience extracting and developing insights from data and presenting performance, optimizations and recommendations to cross-functional teams.
  • Strong business acumen with ability to independently think strategically and innovatively.
  • Strong presentation skills and executive presence to garner support from marketing teams/leadership and persuade them on media recommendations.
  • Strong leadership abilities and experience managing teams/cross functional work relationships, both internally and with external agency and media partners.
  • Experience influencing the decision making of diverse, high level stakeholders.
  • Experience developing and implementing a Paid Search strategy for a matrixed brand or company.

 

What Will Set You Apart

           

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 9 years of digital media marketing to include e-Commerce experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Active certifications for Google Ads, and Google Analytics.
  • Experience using Tableau.
  • Experience working for an Alcohol beverage or CPG company.
  • Experience managing a large portfolio of brands with a wide variety of budgets with proven success.
  • Significant organizational skills to work effectively in a fast paced, high campaign volume environment demanding quick responses.
  • Ability to prioritize and deliver multiple products or services concurrently under time constraints.
  • Experience in performance driven media, development and implementation of data driven strategies and 1st party data acquisition strategies and media deployment.
  • Skilled at increasing conversion rates by utilizing channels such as search engine optimization (SEO), search engine marketing (SEM), email marketing, word-of- mouth marketing (direct or via agency).
