Summary:
Responsible for assigned book of business within Gallo brand portfolio which includes successful relationship building, project management, creative strategy development, project and team efficiency, cost recovery and creative integrity. Partners with assigned clients to understand and articulate their business needs while driving team effectiveness. Oversees the daily activities of a dedicated team of client partnership and/or project management personnel, ensuring that client deliverables are produced on time, on budget, and on strategy. Works in collaboration with other functional areas across Gallo Creative to advance trusted, valued partnerships with internal clients, develop and deliver informed solutions, and advance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Core accountabilities of this position:
- Business Acumen: Demonstrated mastery of assigned book of business and related Gallo brands.
- Client Partnership: Collaboration with internal marketing clients to develop sound strategies and successful creative work in support of business and brand objectives.
- Personnel Management: Steady management and daily guidance of direct reports, evolving individual and team talent to ensure performance requirements are met.
Business Acumen
- Leverages business intelligence, industry insight, and Gallo brand marketing acumen to guide the development of sound creative solutions on behalf of assigned clients.
- Partners with the Director and leadership team to set the vision for the Client Partnership team.
- Ensures client alignment with overarching objectives—aiding in the formation of holistic creative strategies and comprehensive briefing documents.
- Oversees as well as participates in project scoping and initiation, effectively summarizing project requirements to enable the project team’s understanding of complex, high-visibility, and/or multi-media campaigns before work begins.
- Partners with Creative colleagues to inform approaches, concepts and executions, positively influencing project outcomes in support of business objectives.
- Develops and delivers compelling and convincing presentations supported by sound strategies and business-based rationale to trigger meaningful conversations and influence decision making.
- Identifies new business opportunities across assigned brands, leading the pursuit of those opportunities to advance Gallo Creative’s reputation, position, and cost-recovery objectives.
- Supports and contributes to the creation and implementation of processes and tools in partnership with Creative Operations and leadership teams.
- Client Partnership
- Serves as a lead point of contact on assigned book of business to drive cross-functional stakeholder alignment and partnership by continually adding value to the process/project.
- Works collaboratively with stakeholders to develop and implement sound creative strategies in support of business/program objectives.
- Proactively engages clients early in the creative process—planning/forecasting work up front and holding "discovery meetings” to inform the project pipeline, resource needs and seasonal demand.
- Strengthens client partnerships by applying account management expertise as well as marketing and brand acumen to ensure projects are planned and executed on time, on budget, on strategy, and with excellence.
- Maintains connectivity to client group by regularly meeting with critical partners to stay current on their business, while building and maintaining strong working relationships.
- Routinely gathers feedback from client groups on the overall performance and effectiveness of the Client Partnership and Creative teams to understand challenges and identify opportunities for improvements.
- Facilitates quarterly or bi-annual partnership review meetings with clients, to understand and take action on opportunities to improve Gallo Creative’s work product and partnership potential.
- Seeks and proactively proposes opportunities to maximize marketing dollars and find creative solutions to complex problems.
- Personnel Management
- Partners with Creative leader(s) to drive a cohesive, high-performing cross-functional team.
- Actively manages and mentors creative project managers, ensuring that performance management practices are followed, and expectations are met—enabling their contribution and ongoing development.
- Responsible for growing the industry insight, brand fluency, and marketing and creative communications proficiency of a dedicated project management team
- Maintains understanding and enforces team compliance with workflow processes and project management practices (scheduling, tracking and reporting) on behalf of assigned clients, as well as:
- Ensuring briefs are reviewed and projects are appropriately scoped with clients in advance of initiating work
- Ensuring proper categorization and estimating of project costs, and project budget management
- Ensuring project initiation, scheduling, and accounting practices are followed
- On-going trafficking of active projects as well as discrete project deliverables
- On-going prioritization of project deliverables, especially when scheduling/resource conflicts occur
- Regular communication with clients including project status updates, meeting summaries, expense tracking, etc.
- Provides coaching and skillset development for direct reports, offering feedback in realtime as well as preparing and delivering formal reviews in accordance with Gallo’s performance management practices.
- Participates as an active member of Gallo Creative’s management team to effectively advance talent and skillsets.
- Maintains satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.
- Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations. If accountable for the work of others, responsible for ensuring their understanding and compliance.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree plus 8 years of marketing communications, advertising, marketing/creative agency, digital, account management, or entrepreneurial experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility or Gallo brand marketing support, creative/agency support, corporate communications, sales account management, creative design, hospitality planning/support, media/digital marketing reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR high school diploma or state-issued equivalency certificate plus 12 years of marketing communications, advertising, marketing/creative agency, digital, account management or entrepreneurial experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility or Gallo brand marketing support, creative/agency support, corporate communications, sales account management, creative design, hospitality planning/support, media/digital marketing reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
- Two (2) years’ experience leading project teams and/or managing account/project management personnel.
- Ability to partner with clients to develop relevant, effective marketing communications strategies— scoping projects in support of clients’ business objectives.
- Experience contributing to business development initiatives and positively influencing growth objectives.
- Understanding of marketing strategy, messaging, design, and production principles across all forms of media.
- Experience working as part of a multi-functional marketing communications team to develop industry-leading creative output.
- Mastery of project management including scoping, resourcing, scheduling, budgeting, and workflow trafficking.
- Customer oriented with exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through.
- Ability to succeed under pressure, managing multiple concurrent projects while shifting priorities and responding to changing business conditions and corresponding needs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, presentation skills, and meeting leadership, as well as interpersonal communication, conflict-resolution, and relationship building skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft 365 productivity apps including Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as well as other cloud-based systems.
- Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree plus 6 years of marketing communications, advertising, marketing/creative agency, digital, or account management experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
- PMP certification from a recognized professional project management training organization.
- Experience working on Scrum or Agile teams.
- External agency experience—specifically, driving creative strategies on behalf of assorted clients.
- Experience assessing business problems, collecting data, extracting insights, and drawing sound conclusions.
- Knowledge of brand equities and promotional success factors. • Understanding of online and in-person retail, POS, brand marketing, and B2B/B2C sales.
- Skilled in advanced problem resolution, e.g., diffusing stressful, politically charged situations.

Compensation
- Hiring Salary Range: $118,600 - $178,000/Year
- Actual compensation amount paid may be lower or higher to be determined by factors other than race and gender such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
