Level 3 Forklift Driver (Part-Time)

Under minimal supervision, performs various functions related to the Brandy barreling and Spirits processing and production operations.  The Level 3 Skilled Driver must demonstrate depth of skill in clamp and forklift areas during operation.  Failure of assessment/certification will disqualify Skilled Driver at this level for a period as specified in the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The schedule will be on swing and grave yard. 


  • Certification and re-certification of attained Clamp Driver skills, duties and accountabilities including safety, and QA will be necessary. 
  • Responsible for training other members of the team including providing coaching and feedback, sharing troubleshooting tips and skills, and modeling trainer behaviors and competencies.
  • Maintains new skills and processes introduced for clamp driver area operation and other Level 3 areas of responsibility.
  • Demonstrates sense of urgency, teamwork within diverse team make-up, effective oral/written communication, problem solving and decision-making in cross-functional interaction with Ops/Supply Chain personnel to achieve department goals in cost reduction and customer service.
  • Promotes/supports/exhibits the values of maintaining a positive environment, professionalism and embracing change. 
  • Accepts constructive feedback and alter behavior accordingly.
  • Reads and understands technical training manuals; apply content to job functions, and participate in re-writing and design of Gallo training manuals as necessary.

  • Works as GWW as business demands dictate.
  • Unloads curtain vans.
  • Responsible for moving pallets of finished product to various work areas such as vans/flats, or to the proper warehouse locations.
  • Moves raw, packaging, or point-of-sale materials.
  • Responsible for leaker pickup and other housekeeping tasks as necessary.
  • Responsible for stacking product.
  • Picks product for sales orders.
  • Operates stretch wrapper.
  • Responds and troubleshoots palletizer downtime.
  • Demonstrates ability to multi-task.
  • Must accurately scan product LPN’s, use query functionality, perform cycle counts, and other miscellaneous inventory adjustments.
  • Responsible for insuring inventory accuracy.
  • Responsible for understanding and executing instructions on JDE work orders.
  • Responsible for inspecting packages (pallet patterns & print) to ensure compliance with work orders.
  • Performs an active role in completing GMP line cleanup after a production run on all lines.
  • Performs operation of recycling compactor and insures that recyclable material is not backlogged.
  • Performs glass storage.
  • Maintains satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.
  • Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental, GMP and safety regulatory considerations.

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Required to comply with company GMP policies.
  • Required to work overtime if necessary.
  • Required to pass in-house clamp lift and forklift skills tests.
  • WorkKeys test scores: Applied Math (4), Graphic Literacy (4), Workplace Documents (3)
  • Possess OSHA lift certification or at least one year lift experience and provide documentation of certification or experience to the Company with 24 hours of interview.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Required to be 18 years of age or older.
  • Required to lift and move up to 60 pounds.


  • Prior fork lift, clamp lift and inventory management experience.
  • Current fork lift / clamp lift qualification.
  • Possesses skills for creating documentation and training other line drivers.
  • Experience with human machine interface (HMI).
  • Intermediate computer aptitude.
  • Driving positive attitude focused on attaining plant safety, quality, and continuous improvement goals through teamwork.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to:

  • Frequently reaching with frequent torso and neck rotation and constant handling and grasping.
  • Maximum lifting of 60 lbs. occasionally, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling.
  • Constant movements occur while operating the foot controls on the lifts on a constant basis. 
  • Hand and finger dexterity and gross manipulation occurs on a constant basis in terms of operating the knobs and controls on the lift. 
  • Constant sitting for the majority of the work shift in terms of driving the lift.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to the following:

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
  • The employee will be working indoors and outdoors; during the winter months the temperatures are as low as 40 degrees on some days.
  • The primary working surface is concrete.
  • Exposure to clamp lifts, forklifts, pallet carts, pallet jacks, golf carts and bicycles and employees.
