A Taste of What You'll Do

Join our collaborative, inclusive lab team where your analytical skills will shape world-class winery products and processes. Under minimal supervision you’ll perform physical, microbiological, and chemical analyses on wines, grapes, grape products, spirits (where applicable), water, incoming materials and related samples to support quality control, winemaking, environmental monitoring, research and process evaluation. You will run and maintain instruments such as auto-titrators, refractometers, densitometers, GC, IR and spectrophotometers, prepare standard solutions and media, log samples in LIMS, and report results in a timely, ISO 17025–aligned quality framework.

 

You’ll troubleshoot instruments and data, evaluate QC, quarantine out-of-spec results, and lead corrective actions and root-cause investigations in partnership with production teams as needed. You’ll support method development, participate in new equipment installs, maintain inventory, and help update lab documentation. Training and mentoring newer technicians, stepping in to direct the team when supervisors are unavailable, and promoting continuous improvement and safe work practices are key parts of the role.

What You'll Need

  •  Bachelor's degree with a combined 20 college coursework units of chemistry, biology, and/or microbiology plus 2 years of chemistry/microbiology laboratory experience; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 6 years or 6 seasons of paid laboratory experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibilities; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 20 college coursework units of chemistry, biology, and/or microbiology plus 4 years of chemistry/microbiology laboratory experience.
  • Skilled in writing simple correspondence.
  • Skilled in the use of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing using whole numbers.
  • Required to maintain 3 shift availability (day, swing, and graveyard); required to work overtime when necessary; required to work weekends when necessary
  • Required to be at least 21 years of age.
  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. How You'll Stand Out

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Science, or Biochemistry plus 4 years of chemistry/microbiology laboratory experience.
  • Strong verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong instrument troubleshooting, maintenance and repair skills.
  • Experience working in an ISO:17025 accredited laboratory
