As an Insights Manager, you will lead consumer & shopper research, including defining, designing, and executing testing in collaboration with internal and external partners and be responsible for translating data and information into actionable, impactful insights. You will have access to a range of sources and research methodologies, including quantitative and quantitative approaches as well as syndicated sources and custom research to bring the voice of the consumer into business decisions. This is a highly impactful role that partners with brand and sales stakeholders, product development, marketing communication teams, design partners and other cross functionals to provide a holistic and strategic understanding of consumer and shopper attitudes, behaviors, brand perceptions and opportunities. 

 

 

 

What You Will Do

         

  • Functions as the consumer & shopper expert; providing influence and guidance to senior management on strategy, projects and programs.
  • Supports stakeholder teams by delivering actionable recommendations to drive growth through deep understanding of consumers and shoppers (including segmentations/targeting, how they use the product/service, how they shop for the category including channel missions and trip types, and interaction with adjacent categories and brands).
  • Understands key business priorities and drivers, tests hypotheses, and delivers actionable insights, or proposes new areas for investigation.
  • Identifies knowledge gaps and develops annual Insight & Research learning plan.
  • Designs, manages, and executes appropriate consumer & shopper market research; ensuring accurate implementation, managing internal/external partners, interpreting data and providing cohesive solutions to complex business and marketing issues.
  • Integrate primary consumer and shopper research with insights from other sources of information (e.g. wine style and product guidance, consumer affairs, sales and marketing analysis, syndicated research) to provide compelling and influential stories using data.
  • Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure projects progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
  • Synthesizes data from foundational research across the Winery to guide identification of new opportunities and inspire action among stakeholders.
  • Some key areas you’ll be engaging in developing/validating are: packaging design and functionality, advertising campaign development, attitude and usage studies, marketing funnel and shopper behavior tracking.
  • Makes recommendations, implements, institutionalizes, or creates new methods from other industries into the Gallo business.

 

 

What You Will Need

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree plus 6 years of marketing research and data analysis experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Master’s degree plus 4 years of marketing research and data analysis experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 10 years of marketing research and data analysis experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.    
  • Computer skills requirements include: MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project and MS PowerPoint.  
  • Experience conducting market research for a consumer-driven organization.
  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

What Will Set You Apart

 

  • Master’s Degree plus 6 years of marketing research and data analysis experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor’s degree plus 8 years of marketing research and data analysis experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Marketing, Sales, consumer/product understanding, or new product development experience.
  • Experience with taking ideas from conception to market.
  • Experience utilizing both qualitative and quantitative data sets.
  • Experience designing, overseeing and analyzing custom and syndicated research from start to finish.
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Strong team building, leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Experience with working well with a diverse group of personalities across multiple disciplines.
  • Experience with taking responsibility for all aspects of projects that are broad in nature and require originality and ingenuity, with appreciable latitude for actions and decisions.

Compensation

  • Hiring Pay Range: $115,900 - $173,900/Year
  • Actual compensation amount paid may be lower or higher to be determined by factors other than race and gender such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
