Join our team at Gallo in Modesto, CA as the EHS Director of Environmental, where you will play a crucial role in shaping our environmental compliance strategies and programs. We are seeking a passionate leader who will provide thought leadership and organizational accountability for all aspects of Environmental Compliance, ensuring our enterprise's performance is top-tier within the CPG industry. You will be at the forefront of interpreting legislation, developing compliance strategies, and acting as the interface with governmental bodies, ensuring our operations adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and standards.
In this role, you will partner with the EHS Director of Health and Safety to jointly implement comprehensive health and safety regulatory programs and processes across the enterprise. Your strategic planning skills will be essential in anticipating changes in regulations and organizational performance. You will be responsible for understanding and applying regulatory obligations across multiple disciplines, ensuring that our business needs are met while maintaining compliance.

What You Need
- Master's degree in an Environmental, EHS technical field of study or related field of study plus 8 years of experience in EHS fields reflecting increasing levels of responsibility OR Bachelor's degree in an Environmental, EHS technical field of study or related field of study plus 10 years of experience in EHS fields reflecting increasing levels of responsibility,; OR High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 12 years of experience in EHS fields reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
- 5 years direct supervisory experience.
- 5 years of direct environmental management experience.
- Ability to lead initiatives across business units and flex ideas/concepts appropriately depending on business needs.
- Ability to work with and influence a broad range of people with diverse backgrounds and expertise across key functional areas.
- Required to up to 10% travel by air and car as part of job duties
- Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
- Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
What Will Set You Apart
- 7 years of direct manufacturing environmental experience
- 10 years direct supervisory experience
- California environmental management experience
- CHMM certifications.
- Exposure to or direct interface with California Air Resources Board, California Water Resources Control Board, EPA, Department of Toxic Substances Control.
- Prior responsibility for EHS across multiple sites.
- Experience influencing at the senior management level and team level.
- Experience with effectively presenting information to top management, public groups, and boards of directors.
- Experience working with all levels and functions within the Company.
Compensation:
- Hiring Salary Range Posted: $178,800 - $298,000 / year
- Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
