Summary
Responsible for executing mid- to lower-complexity design projects on behalf of assigned brands. Engages in conceptualizing, developing, and delivering innovative, on-target solutions in support of the creative services organization. Design projects include some or all of the following: brand identity, packaging extension, point-of-sale, digital, social, ecommerce, collateral, photo/video, and other creative assignments. Manages a high-volume of fast-paced projects while supporting the overall effectiveness of the Creative team.
Core accountabilities of this position:
- Design Assignments: Development of innovative, on-target design solutions across assigned projects.
- Creative Support: Design support to enable capacity, capabilities, and effectiveness of the design team.
- Project Accountability: Compliance with departmental processes, practices, project timelines, and budgets.
Design Assignments
- Collaborates with Gallo Creative colleagues to execute mid- to lower-complexity design assignments aligned with project specifications and/or client briefs, ensuring timely completion within set parameters.
- Develops knowledge of brand identity standards and the shopper journey across in-store, online, and social platforms, tailoring creative deliverables to engage consumers effectively at each touchpoint.
- Contributes to the advancement of the design competency within the Creative workgroup:
- Crafts compelling visuals that drive brand engagement, • Produces sketches in support of assigned projects,
- Offers feedback and shares ideas with other designers and creative team members, and
- Consistently delivers high-quality output with meticulous attention to detail—on time, on budget, and on strategy.
- Ensures consistency by accurately applying brand identity and style guidelines across all design elements and presentations.
- Remains on top of design industry trends, emerging media, and new technologies, applying creative treatments to drive innovation and the application of modern design principles.
- Introduces current trends related to photography, typography, layout composition, color theory, identity design, and packaging to keep work at the cutting edge of today’s design practices.
- Creative Support • Supports Creative Director and cross-functional leads to form a unified, efficient team, driving projects to completion within established budgets and timelines.
- Supports the research of competitive audits, brand-equity assessments, consumer insights, and category benchmarks.
- Supports design of a wide range of creative assets including brand identity, brand visual language, digital ads, social media content, print collateral, packaging, and in-store displays.
- Offers creative support to enhance team capabilities, participate in brainstorming sessions, and execute creative ideas and territories.
- Executes sketches or designs developed by senior team members. • Provides overflow support to other members of the design team to aid in the successful completion of work to meet project deadlines.
- Manages the preparation and quality assurance of design presentations, including renderings and PowerPoint slides; organizes and archives design files for easy retrieval.
- Ensures pre-press files are clean and complete before release to Production and prepared in accordance with prescribed specifications and practices.
- Project Accountability
- Supports continuous improvement efforts and compliance with design best practices, ensuring work adheres to brand principles and Gallo Creative’s high-quality standards.
- Organizes, manages, prioritizes, and be accountable for project tasks from initiation and creative execution through production and delivery/go live across a high-volume of fastpaced projects.
- Proactively communicates with team members, surfaces issues as they arise, and participates in solutions that enable projects to stay on track.
- Demonstrates compliance with workflow processes and accountability for interim project milestones.
- Ensuring files are prepared for production in a clear and organized manner.
- Manages personal workload including accurate time tracking and prompt completion of project documentation to meet deadlines and maintain productivity.
- Maintains satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.
- Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations. If accountable for the work of others, responsible for ensuring their understanding and compliance.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, fine arts, advertising, communications, and/or journalism plus 1 year of experience in graphic design, copywriting, art direction and/or campaign development; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 5 years of experience in graphic design, copywriting, art direction and/or campaign development.
- Original portfolio that contains work samples across a variety of output types.
- Experience developing and refining designs from conception through execution; skilled in design composition, typography and executing sketches or designs developed by other team members.
- Experience working as part of a multi-functional marketing communications team to develop design output.
- Strong communication skills, organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work well under pressure with little supervision.
- Strong interpersonal skills, conflict-resolution, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 productivity apps including Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.), Keynote, and cloud-based project management systems/platforms, e.g. Workfront, Basecamp, etc.
- Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, fine arts, advertising, communications, and/or journalism plus 3 years of experience in graphic design, copywriting, art direction and/or campaign development reflecting increasing levels or responsibility.
- External agency experience developing design solutions on behalf of assorted clients.
- Knowledge of printing and digital production technologies and methodologies.
- Design experience in spirits, beer, beverage or lifestyle industries.

Compensation
- Hiring Salary Range: $67,000 - $100,400/Year
- Actual compensation amount paid may be lower or higher to be determined by factors other than race and gender such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
