As an Analyst of Cost Engineering for E. & J. Gallo Winery, you will engage in capital project cost tracking ensuring projected project costs are within the approved budget and variances are identified and addressed for capital projects at the Modesto, Livingston or Fresno production facilities. Additionally, you will research and provide financial and business analysis to assess the impact of project scope changes on the total project costs. In this role, you will make recommendations to help mitigate project overruns, working with engineering project managers to convert capital project spend into fixed assets.

What You Will Do

Daily Opportunities:

  • Working with multiple project managers, prepare and maintain project spend forecasts Review and update project managers on the status of forecasted and actual spend relative to the approved budgets
  • Lead the weekly financial forecast discussion between Project Managers and Engineering Management

Analytical Skills:

  • Reconciling forecasted, committed and actual costs monitor “yet to buy” estimates and identify risks and opportunities
  • Quantify the impact of all risks and opportunities on the projects working contingency
  • Convert detailed project spend into uniquely identifiable fixed assets

Continuous Improvement:

  • Contributes to the development of new concepts, techniques and standards to ensure continuous improvement

What You Need

  • Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of finance, accounting, supplier development, or construction management experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility OR high school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 6 years of finance, accounting, supplier development, or construction management experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Skilled in the use of MS Excel at and advanced level, MS Word, MS Access, MS PowerPoint at a basic level.

What Will Set You Apart

  • Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting or Business plus 5 years of finance or accounting experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
