 Join our dynamic winery team as a building Maintenance Mechanic. Under minimal supervision, you will provide full-service support to winery employees, handling everything from office furniture installation and reconfiguration to building maintenance and special projects. Operating across multiple sites, you will ensure that our maintenance and space planning operations are conducted at the highest quality and lowest cost.

 

Your key responsibilities include performing preventative and predictive maintenance on various systems such as HVAC, refrigeration, and water treatment. You will coordinate maintenance and furniture operations for production, warehousing, and office areas, while participating in cross-functional planning teams to execute assigned projects. Regular inspections of building equipment will be essential, ensuring that everything from office furniture to complex control systems is functioning optimally. You will handle repairs, replacements, and adjustments as needed, developing and executing comprehensive maintenance plans.

 

Additionally, you will prepare detailed drawings for reconfiguration requests and manage remodels and equipment replacements. Your ability to troubleshoot issues, collect data, and implement effective solutions will be crucial. Coordination is key, as you will oversee smaller-scale construction projects, ensuring minimal disruption to employees and strict adherence to safety regulations. Maintaining accurate inventory levels and preparing parts for various tasks will be part of your role. Staying current with EPA laws and regulations is essential, and we encourage continuous learning through classes and technical training. What You Will Need:

  • High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 4 years of professional building maintenance, professional mechanical maintenance, or production maintenance experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.

  • Required to work one weekend per month, as needed.

  • Valid driver’s license. Required to obtain a California driver’s license or appropriate state driver’s license within 30 days of hire.

  • Required to lift 100 lbs, as well as lift and carry 75lbs up flights of stairs and ladders.

  • Required to work on ladders, building rooftops and crawl through tight spaces (e.g. attics and basements).

  • Skilled in reading, comprehending, interpreting and executing simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.

  • Skilled in writing simple correspondence.

  • Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing using whole numbers.

  • Basic computer skills.

  •  Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

What Will Set You Apart: 

  • High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 6 years of professional building maintenance, professional mechanical maintenance, or production maintenance experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR AA degree to include electronics and welding coursework plus 4 years of professional building maintenance, professional mechanical maintenance, or production maintenance experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.

  • Possess strong mechanical aptitude.

  • Self-motivated team player; experience recognizing and solving maintenance problems/issues and suggesting improvements.

  • Skilled in maintaining professionalism and experience working with all functions and levels of the organization.

  • Experience working independently.

  • Experience using and operating building maintenance equipment such as welders, torches, vacuum pumps, volt and amp meters, plumbing and light equipment.

  • Skilled in understanding and executing verbal and written instructions.

  • Experience reading, analyzing and interpreting common maintenance journals and equipment O & O documents and diagrams.

  • Experience listening and responding to common inquiries or complaints from customers.

  • Experience communicating effectively, verbally or in writing with customers, peers and stakeholders.

  • Experience effectively presenting information to customers, contractors, managers or other operational areas.

  • Skilled in the use of MS Windows, MS Internet Explorer, MS Word and Excel as well as Trane Tracer ES and SC controls.

Compensation:

  • Hiring Salary Range Posted: $32.12 - $43.37 / hour 

  • Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
