Join our team in Modesto as a Bottling Site EHS Specialist, where you will play a critical role in fostering a safe and environmentally compliant workplace. We are looking for a proactive and knowledgeable individual who can identify and address local organizational EHS needs. As an EHS Specialist, you will apply your skills and expertise to monitor and maintain essential EHS programs and procedures, ensuring our site meets all relevant safety and environmental regulations.
In this role, you will work under the general direction of the local EHS Manager or senior operations management, taking personal responsibility for your outputs and knowing when to escalate issues. You will interpret regulatory requirements, participate in assessments and audits, and monitor site-specific procedures to support compliance. Developing your skills and knowledge in regulatory requirements is essential for integrating them into your job duties effectively.
Key responsibilities include tracking critical audits, permits, and associated EHS activities, generating performance measurement reports, and participating in root cause analysis for significant incidents. You will maintain OSHA 300 Logs, collect and evaluate EHS information, and collaborate with internal and cross-functional partners. Supporting and implementing training programs related to compliance and incident prevention will also be part of your duties.
Additionally, you will participate in the Management of Change review process, maintain SDS documents and hazardous material inventories, and perform site inspections of contractor construction activities. Your contributions will help us obtain and maintain third-party certifications and perform fundamental environmental and industrial hygiene monitoring.

What You Need
- High school diploma or state-issued equivalency certificate plus 6 years of EHS experience or comparable military experience; OR Bachelor of Science degree plus 2 years of EHS experience, OMDP experience or comparable military experience; OR Bachelor of Science EHS (Accredited EHS program).
- Skilled in developing clear written communications, procedures, and work instructions. Ability to present information effectively to a wide variety of audiences.
- Skilled in the use of MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint at an intermediate level.
- Ability to source, read and understand, EHS regulations as published by government agencies and applicable to site functions.
- Candidate is required to have a valid driver’s license, a safe driving record and reliable vehicle (if applicable) at the time of hire. This position will undergo a motor vehicle check (MVR) to confirm a history of safe and responsible driving. If needed, candidate must obtain the appropriate state driver’s license based on the position’s location within 30 days of hire.
- Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. What Will Set You Apart
- Bachelor of Science EHS (Accredited EHS program) and/or possession of EHS related certifications (Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST), Certified Hazardous Materials Manger (CHMM).
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience reading, analyzing, and interpreting common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents.
- Experience responding to common inquiries or complaints from internal customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
- Skilled in applying mathematical concepts.
- Skilled in defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts and drawing valid conclusions.
Compensation:
- Hiring Salary Range Posted: $73,700 - $110,500 / year
- Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
