The Food Safety and Quality team ensures products are manufactured to standard that ensure we protect our consumers and brand while meeting or exceeding consumer expectations. In this role, you will work cross-functionally with research, product making, and operational partners to assess and establish food safety controls and governance in preventative controls.
 

What You Will Do
 

Performance Management


Develop corporate standards for enterprise policy and programs related to product safety, toxicology and global regulatory compliance, including areas such as agrochemicals, allergens, specialized ingredients or wine production techniques.
Continually assesses and influences actions regarding regulatory policy compliance; constantly evaluates how global food safety regulations impact the industry and their potential impact to Gallo business.
 

Cross-Functional Leadership 

  • Collaborates with Grower Relations teams in efforts to establish relevant agrochemical tools that provide adequate resources to address emerging pest pressures and meet a global regulatory framework
  • Provides program direction and expertise to laboratories, product making, research and operations groups to ensure food safety preventative controls are intact and effective.

What You Need

  • Master of Science degree in Toxicology, Biology, Chemistry, Food Science, Microbiology, Immunology, Pharmacology, or Biochemistry plus 6 years of toxicology research and management experience reflecting increasing levels or responsibility; OR Bachelor of Science degree in Toxicology, Biology, Chemistry, Food Science, Microbiology, Immunology, Pharmacology, or Biochemistry plus 8 years of toxicology research and management experience reflecting increasing levels or responsibility.

What Will Set You Apart

  • Ph.D. degree in Toxicology plus 8 years of food and beverage toxicology research and management experience reflecting increasing levels or responsibility.
  • Experience defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts and drawing valid conclusions.
  • Experience making effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and boards of directors.
