Summary
Collaborates across various functions (IT, Marketing, Sales, etc.) and works on Sales Analytics Department Activities to include delivering predictive models, developing production level algorithms, and actionable ad-hoc insights. Exhibits a natural curiosity and willingness to learn the Sales and Marketing functions of E&J Gallo Winery in an effort to establish best in class predictive models. Consistently seeks out new approaches in developing tools and models based on ongoing learnings and independent research.

Essential Functions

  • Works cross-functionally to support sales OGSMs to deliver timely and actionable data insights to the sales organization.
  • Evaluates, analyzes and synthesizes large amounts of internal and external data from multiple sources. Presents findings and recommendations to leadership.
  • Develops scenario-based models to facilitate data-based decision making across various levels of the organization.
  • Develops predictive models and algorithms aimed at serving up account level actions to the field based sales force.
  • Researches external resources for data in the effort of driving deeper predictive models for account based actions.
  • Builds scenarios and models to guide planning and prioritizes options to aid in leadership decision making.
  • Conducts analyses and research in areas such as: account segmentation and performance, sales performance, drivers of growth, market opportunities, and return on investment.
  • Communicates analysis in a visually compelling manner in order to drive change.
  • Facilitates meetings with cross functional partners in Sales, IT, and BU teams to identify growth opportunities uncovered from data insights. Ensures alignment on recommendations to execute.
  • Provides thorough and detailed analysis as well as thought leadership on special projects.
  • Facilitates inter-departmental communications regarding the sharing of best practices.
  • Addresses key business issues utilizing multiple sources of data.
  • Researches and analyzes industry trends and market performance to identify business opportunities.
  • Maintains satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.
  • Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations. If accountable for the work of others, responsible for ensuring their understanding and compliance.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, MIS, Economics or Physics plus 1 year of data analytics experience; OR Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, MIS, Economics or Physics plus 3 years of data analytics experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Experience with data visualization approaches and software (Tableau, Microstrategy, etc.)
  • Experience in Python and highly proficient with Pandas, Numpy, Matplotlib, and SciKitLearn packages.
  • Experience with SQL query language and understanding of establishing and manipulating enterprise level database connections.
  • Experience reading, analyzing and interpreting common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, MIS, Economics or Physics plus 2 years of data analytics experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor’s Degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, MIS, Economics or Physics plus 5 years of data analytics experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Experience with AWS Tools including SageMaker and S3 BOTO.
  • Experience with statistical software (MaxStat, MINITAB, etc.).
  • Experience effectively presenting information to top management, public groups and boards of directors.
  • Experience applying mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory and factor analysis.
  • Experience defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts and drawing valid conclusions.
  • Experience interpreting an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and dealing with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Experience completing assignments that broad in nature, usually requiring originality and ingenuity.
  • Knowledge of principles, practices and procedures of this particular field of specialization.
