As a Platform Developer you will be responsible for all types of development and customizations on "the platform", including coding, unit testing, building applications, and creating and/or modifying existing applications/configurations.  You will work alongside Platform Administrators (Configurator role), Business Relationship Managers, and other Team members providing solutions to support the needs of the business.


What You Will Do:

  • Responsible for the design, development and implementation of technical solutions in accordance with requirements provided by the business and/or other areas within the IT organization.
  • Applies industry best practices and advanced methodologies, including Scrum techniques, to address and review system requirements, business processes, changing development and technology environments.
  • Creates new functionality to modify and extend existing apps using appropriate technologies.
  • Responsible for conducting or coordinating quality assurance testing and quality assurance practices to deliver IT services that meet requirements, work as planned and integrate with other IT services.
  • Ability to execute to business requirements and be able to identify risks in the development process.
  • Performs root cause analysis for any technical application issues.
  • Utilizes technical understanding for successful upgrades and implementation of future phases of application.
  • Understands impact of actions on architectural integration design.
  • Contributes to planning and preparing documentation of the development and functioning of operational systems including technical reports and instructional manuals.
  • Provides training and support for designated customers. Leads project, conducts internal and external meetings as needed.
  • Follows best practices internally.
  • Meets budget and schedule commitments, as well as communicate project status to all levels of management.
  • Ensures performance measurements are met in all elements Portfolio including development, delivery, operations, SLAs, and customer service.
  • Understands the capabilities and constraints of the platform and maximize their value in our applications and tools
  • Understands the business areas supported to determine specific output requirements and report format. Supports multiple business areas.
  • Identifies opportunities for system and process improvements and contributes to improvement projects.
  • Ability to actively identify new areas for learning; regularly creating and taking advantage of learning opportunities
  • Handles small to medium complexity activities/projects and prioritizes as needed.
  • Works with moderate level of guidance and direction from others.
  • May be required to provide on-call support during off-hours.
  • Maintains satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.
  • Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations. If accountable for the work of others, responsible for ensuring their understanding and compliance.


What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of IT experience; OR Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, MIS, Math, Systems Engineering, or Data Sciences plus 1 year of IT experience; OR High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 6 years of IT experience.
  • Experience developing platform products.
  • Experience with Web Development (ie. html, javascript, css), Object Oriented Programming, Continuous Integration Software Development process, Data Modeling/Management, Change Management
  • Competency with REST/SOAP API functions .
  • Knowledge of latest integration technologies available between applications and platforms.
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies and ITSM processes such as incident, problem, change management, and project development content.
  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.


What Will Set You Apart:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of IT experience; OR Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, MIS, Math, or Systems Engineering plus 3 year of IT experience; OR High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 8 years of IT experience.
  • Demonstrates the ability to lead projects.
  • Demonstrates the ability to develop and lead others.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analysis techniques.
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills.
  • Highly proficient in basic office applications such as MS Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
  • Experience designing and developing dashboards and reports with BI Tools.
  • Understanding of common programming languages used for API development (such as Python or nodeJS).
  • Proficiency with installation, configuration, design, development, migration and administration of OpenText applications such as Magellan Text Mining, Magellan Analytics, Magellan Data Science, and Content Suite.
  • Certifications including: CIW Advanced HTML5 and CSS# Specialist; CIW UI Designer; AWS Cloud Practitioner; Comp TIA A+/Linux+/Server+/Data+/Project+.

  • Hiring Salary Range Posted: $77,400 -$106,400
  • Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
