Provides education and training oversight for all of operations with a focus on EH&S, Food Quality and Safety and ensures program integrity for all site/department workforce development needs. This includes researching, identifying, and managing education and training offerings which are administrated and delivered by outside vendors as well as programs designed, developed, and delivered internally. Functions as the operations expert on education and training practices by leading the implementation of best practices and working to integrate into specific operations sites (i.e., bottling, spirits). Leads the review of training reports and educational documents ensuring that learning and skill development objectives are being met.
Serves on the site/department leadership team and as well as the O&SC Education and Training Council. Provides direct training and mentoring for operations education training-support staff ensuring training initiatives are executed in a timely and efficient manner. Establishes and maintains robust education and training evaluation and measurement practices. Manages the plan and execution for educational outreach, apprenticeship, and internship programs.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Leads the development of annual and long-range workforce development education/ training goals and associated execution plans for the operations organization.
- Leads the development of overarching operations education and works with specific training and learning lead to develop annual site/department specific education and training curriculum and KPIs; monitors execution of plan.
- Responsible for planning and delivery of all EH&S and safety training for operations.
- Manages Operations training engagements within all areas of Operations, including the sharing of specific safety-related training processes and best practices across sites.
- Leads and implements the effective delivery of large-scale and complex performance-based training programs for Operations across E&J Gallo.
- Leads the design, development, and adoption of state and DOL registered apprenticeship programs and oversees execution of these programs to ensure high quality and compliance with apprenticeship standards.
- Provides oversight and guidance to Operations on educational outreach and internship programs. Manages internship programs in support of site Operations staffing needs.
- Drives the execution of training-specific projects; completes job role-specific determination of knowledge/skill gaps.
- Engages in the task and needs analyses specific to job roles and/or work groups to determine required education & training needs.
- Engages in annual forecasting process for all education and training requirements for the organization and monitors actual education and needs against the baseline annual forecast.
- Determines appropriate delivery methods for training programs; researches, evaluates, and applies the use of applicable learning technologies to enhance overall effectiveness of programs.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
- Master’s degree plus 3 years of manufacturing production/operations, supply chain management/planning (logistics, customer service, procurement, etc.), plant engineering, military leadership, or industrial trainer experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of manufacturing production/operations, supply chain management/planning (logistics, customer service, procurement, etc.), plant engineering, military leadership, or industrial trainer experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 9 years of manufacturing production/operations, supply chain management/planning (logistics, customer service, procurement, etc.), plant engineering, military leadership, or industrial trainer experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
- Experience building strong working relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively.
- Skilled in coaching, influencing, facilitation, presentation and process development.
- Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

WHAT WILL SET YOU APART:
- Master’s degree plus 6 years of experience managing industrial training programs that reflect increasing levels of responsibility.
- Supervisory or management experience.
- E. & J. Gallo Winery Corporate Operations, Supply Chain, or Premium BU Operations experience.
- Experience in the application of project and program management practices supporting the execution of large and complex training programs.
- Experience in the application of standardized training development methodologies and best practices including the use of the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate) development process.
- Experience in the application of qualitative and quantitative training evaluation practices, including experience in the use of the Kirkpatrick Four-Level Evaluation model.
- Experience in the development and implementation of industrial training programs.
Compensation
- Hiring Salary Range Posted: $95,800 -$143,600
- Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
