New Product Packaging Lab Technician

As a Packaging Support Technician with E. & J. Gallo Winery, you will support Engineers in the Packaging Systems Engineering Department in the development of packaging systems, improvement of the efficiency & capacity of production equipment, and determination of the best technology for packaging implementation and verification through experiment execution, documentation support, and producing packaging innovation samples.

What you will do:

  • Collects lab test data and enters test results into the information management system in a timely manner.
  • Maintains necessary documentation database, including equipment set-up folders, standard work documents and data collection systems for the lab.
  • Manages test logistics by working with engineers to develop lab/testing schedule and obtaining all necessary materials for testing.
  • Ensures lab cleanliness

What you will need:

  • High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate.
  • Associate's degree in Engineering plus 2 years of Engineering experience and training reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; or a Bachelor's of Science degree; or 6 years of Engineering experience and training reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Computer skill requirements include: basic MS Word and Excel.
  • Skilled in reading, comprehending, interpreting and executing simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Skilled in writing simple correspondence.
  • Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing using whole numbers.
  • Required to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to obtain Forklift certification required upon hire

What will set you apart:

  • Associate's degree in Engineering plus 4 years of Engineering experience and training reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; or a Bachelor's of Science degree and 2 years Engineering experience, reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Experience reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
