Summary
The Bottling Maintenance Mechanic is a full-time position responsible for preventative and routine maintenance tasks in the Bottling Plant. Maintenance Mechanics troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment, and unsure maximum equipment efficiency, effectiveness and reliability.

What You Will Do

  • Diagnoses malfunctioning equipment such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures, using electrical test equipment and senses such as visual observation, and sense of smell.  Replaces damaged or broken equipment, wires and cables, using hand tools.
  • Works safely to prevent on-the-job injuries by practicing GMP and wearing appropriate company supplied PPEs, attending safety meetings/trainings, reading safety bulletins and memos, and being aware at all times of potential safety hazards in work areas.
  • Complies with all company GMP policies.
  • Communicates, discusses and shares information about equipment malfunctions with other maintenance workers and team leads to develop and implement a corrective action plan.
  • Observes functionality of installed equipment and systems to detect mechanical, electrical or operational hazards to determine the need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
  • Troubleshoots machine center and operational problems by diagnosing if problem is mechanical, electrical, and operational or raw material related.
  • Evaluates and adjusts machinery for changes in materials, environment conditions, and operational error.
  • Communicates various work related problems and issues using radios, cell phones, land lines and e-mail in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Changes out electric photo eyes, proximity switches and limit switches.
  • Unwires and wire backup 3 phase motors.
  • Changes brushes and DC motors.
  • Completes PM (preventive maintenance) work orders as assigned.
  • Identifies and installs proper fasteners, nuts and bolts, terminating devices for electrical installation and repair. 

What You Will Need

  • High School Diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 4 years of maintenance experience OR Associate’s degree / Certificate of completion from an accredited industrial trade program plus 3 years of maintenance experience OR completion of a technical military school/certification plus 3 years of maintenance experience.
  • Required to be 18 years of age of older.
  • Required to work any shift.
  • Required to work overtime, if necessary.
  • Required to lift and move up to 50 pounds frequently.
  • Required to work at heights up to 40 feet.
  • Required to have mechanic tools.
  • Required to comply with company GMP policies.
  • Required to pass the WorkKeys assessments in Applied Technology (4).

What Will Set You Apart

  • Industrial Maintenance experience.
  • Required to pass the Standard Timing Model test.
  • Experience working in a Food and Beverage environment.
  • Experience working on high-speed packaging lines.
  • Knowledge of solid-state electronics including PLC and VFD troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience working in a union environment.
  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code.
  • Proficiency in all phases of machine work.
  • Demonstrates a proficient understanding of hydraulic pneumatics.
  • Working understanding of a CMMS System.
  • Knowledge of and experience troubleshooting complex electrical/solid state electronics using wiring diagrams and test equipment.
  • Experience setting-up and calibrating electrical hardware.
  • Highly knowledgeable and skilled in repair and troubleshooting of packaging equipment.
  • Experience with basic Microsoft application (e.g. Word, Excel).
  • Knowledge of Bottling and Packaging equipment.
  • Knowledge of filling and labeling equipment.

Compensation

  • Hiring Salary Range Posted: $36.17-$36.17
  • Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
