As an Associate Data Engineer, you will transform data into a format that can be easily analyzed, queried and reported against to support the business needs for valuable information.  You will be sourcing data from multiplatform ecosystems and design data models for others to utilize to manage the business. You will assist in developing, maintaining, and testing data pipelines for data generation. Helps to scale computational environments and design across the development team as well as inform, develop, and deploy large sets of data that meet non-functional and functional business requirements.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Creates ETLs (Extract Transform Load), validates, and supports data movement.
  • Assembles large, complex sets of data that meet non-functional and functional business requirements.
  • Identifies, designs and implements internal process improvements including re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, optimizing data delivery, and automating manual processes.
  • Builds required pipeline for optimal extraction, transformation and loading of data from various data sources using ANSI SQL technologies.
  • Builds analytical tools to utilize the data pipeline, providing actionable insight into key business performance metrics including operational efficiency and customer acquisition
  • Works with stakeholders including data, design, product and executive teams and assists with data-related technical issues.
  • Works with stakeholders including the Executive, Product, Data and Design teams to support data infrastructure needs while assisting with data-related technical issues.
  • Identifies and builds large data sets to address business needs.
  • Prepares data for predictive and prescriptive modeling.
  • Performs root cause analysis on external and internal processes and data to identify opportunities for improvement and answers questions.
  • Builds processes that support data transformation, workload management, data structures, dependency and metadata
  • Maintains satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.

 

What You Need

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, MIS, Mathematics, Systems Engineering, Data Sciences, Economics, or Physics; OR Bachelor’s Degree plus 1 years of experience working in a product or platform development environment reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Highschool Diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 5 years of experience working in a product or platform development environment reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Understanding of object-oriented programming languages.
  • Familiar with db design patterns.
  • Working knowledge of at least 2 of the following database technologies: Oracle, Hana, MsSQL, Postgres, Neo4J, RedShift.
  • Understands Basics of programming in Python and Java.
  • Ability to write ANSI SQL queries.

 

What Will Set You Apart

  • Master’s Degree OR Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, MIS, Mathematics, Systems Engineering, Data Sciences, Economics, or Physics plus 2 years of working in a product or platform development environment reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • AWS Certified Developer
  • Experience with Big data tools such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc.
  • Experience with AWS cloud services: Ec2, EMR, RDS, Redshift, etc.
  • Experience building and optimizing ‘big data’ data pipelines and architectures.
  • Excellent analytical skills associated with working on datasets.
