The Gallo Category Development Account Manager role offers an exciting blend of consultative sales activities with cutting edge analytics. As a Category Development Account Manager, you’ll be part of a high-profile team working closely with Target Adult Beverage Buyers to drive sales in the wine and spirits categories nationally. Account Managers execute annual plans and processes, share industry insights and trends, and ideate innovative solutions to business challenges. Account Managers must possess strong skills in sales, presentation, communication, analysis, JDA/ProSpace, organization, time management, and a passion for winning in a competitive market.  If you are looking for a career in Consultative Sales with Leadership potential, we look forward to meeting you.  

 

What You Will Do 

  • As a Category Development Account Manager, you will conduct analysis and provide recommendations to customers helping them identify business opportunities.
  • You will directly and regularly interface with customer category decision makers to recommend category development practices.
  • We will need you to sell “best practices” concepts, philosophies and innovations to the retailer.
  • You will use space planning tools to create and analyze suggested category schematics.
  • You’ll identify opportunities to grow Gallo business across brick & mortar environment, customer’s online platforms, and 3rd party platforms. 
  • You will assist the Account Lead in Customer Joint Business Plan development.

 

What You Need

  • Master’s degree plus 2 years of category development or sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Journalism, Business, Economics, or Supply Chain plus 3 years of sales or category development experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of category development or sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 7 years of category development or sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Candidates for this position must have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record. Required to obtain a California driver’s license or appropriate state driver’s license within 30 days of hire.
  • Required to travel by airplane and automobile to conduct job duties, up to 25% of the time.
  • Required to obtain liquor license as required by state/locality.

 

What Will Set You Apart

  • Master of Business Administration degree plus 4 years of category development or sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor of Business Administration degree plus 6 years of category development or sales experience.
  • 3 years of Gallo account management or project analyst experience.
  • Skilled in statistical analysis and problem solving.  Including advanced data retrieval and manipulation for key insights.
