As a Senior Spirits Brand Ambassador for Argonaut, you will be responsible for partnering with a team of Brand Ambassadors through on premise and retail channels whose focus is to increase visibility and loyalty among gatekeepers, bartenders and consumers to create trial and adoptions opportunities within assigned territory. You will work closely with the sales organization as well as various restaurant and bar staff to educate and train them on specific spirits brands. Monitors, reports, and makes recommendations based upon market trends, consumer awareness and brand loyalty for applicable brands to senior leadership.

 

What You Will Do:

  • Represents Gallo Spirits Brands by acting as a brand, spirits category, and/or mixology expert.
  • Actively stays abreast of best practices, trends, and competitor brands and understands the competitive landscape in order to gain an advantage.
  • Mentors teams to deliver compelling stories to create clear vision.
  • Responsible for developing brands in the On Trade and specified Retail channel.
  • Oversees and guides lower level Brand Ambassadors, ensuring appropriate level of specialized brand knowledge.
  • Ensures team is equipped with the appropriate tools and skill necessary to build brand loyalists through trade outreach and engagement.
  • Monitors and provides monthly KPI reports and consolidates competitive intel across the Ambassadors for inclusion in status updates and recaps.
  • Builds, implements and manages consumer activation strategies, programs, and events. Trade and influence education/relationship builders- focused on consumer target. Develops, implements, and be engaged active participant in brand events.
  • Aggressively pursues and delivers against the 4 advocacy pillars – Availability, Visibility, Advocacy and Promotion.
  • Shares status updates and productivity with senior leadership and spirits brand teams.
  • Provides training to all key stakeholders and partnering sales teams (i.e. Gallo Sales, Distributors, trade, media, consumer groups, etc.).
  • Trains and educates targeted wait staff, bar tenders, and restaurant owners.
  • Acts as a valued partner and consultant to the customer.
  • Applies share of voice, both internally and externally via digital channels as permitted by legal.
  • Manages key relationships with outside partners who jointly own brands with E. & J. Gallo.
  • Manages T&E and activation budgets.
  • Works closely with the internal Gallo partners within the sales organization to ensure consistent communication, alignment, appropriate training and education
  • Collects and analyzes feedback regarding trends the sales organization is seeing out in the market.
  • Recommends plans and strategies to capitalize based on trends data from sales.
  • Works closely with Mixology and Beverage Development Manager on creative product usage to generate buzz surrounding brands.
  • Organizes, attends and represents Gallo’s portfolio of brands at promotional events and key customer/trade events.
  • Plans and executes business plans based upon budget and forecast expectations.
  • Works with Brand Marketing to understand and assist in product launches and promote spirits business unit development.
  • Drives expansion into other markets
  • Travels to different regions for market visits (50% of time).
  • Maintains satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.
  • Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations.

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree plus 5 years of Alcohol Beverage, Luxury Brand Sales, Hospitality, Culinary, Bartender/mixology, Supplier/Wholesaler, Agency Ambassador, or Tasting Room experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility OR High School diploma plus 9 years of Alcohol Beverage, Luxury Brand Sales, Hospitality, Culinary, Bartender/mixology, Supplier/Wholesaler, Agency Ambassador, or Tasting Room experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Experience with developing and implementing a brand marketing programming and education.
  • Experience with owned social media and networks.
  • Experience with Event or Hospitality Management
  • Candidates for this position must have a valid driver's license and a safe driving record. Required to obtain a California driver’s license or appropriate state driver’s license within 30 days of hire.
  • Required to travel up to 50% of the time; required to travel via airplane or automobile.
  • Required to lift and move product weighing up to 45 lbs.
  • Required to employ an alternative work schedule to include weekends and evenings.
  • Required to be 21 years of age or older.
  • Local market knowledge as it pertains to accounts or trade in the alcohol beverage industry

 

What Will Set You Apart:

  • Bachelor’s Degree plus 7 years of Alcohol Beverage, Luxury Brand Sales, Hospitality, Culinary, Bartender/mixology, Non-Alcohol beverage, Supplier/Wholesaler, Agency Ambassador, or Tasting Room experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 11 years of Alcohol Beverage, Luxury Brand Sales, Hospitality, Culinary, Bartender/mixology, Agency Ambassador, or Tasting Room experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Experience putting together beverage programs or cocktail menus.
  • 2 years of Brand Ambassador experience in the alcoholic beverage industry.
  • Experience working with Distributors
  • Strong knowledge of spirits industry
  • Prior retail or on-premise spirits sales experience
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Skilled storyteller.
  • Strong problem solving and motivational skills.
  • Local market knowledge as it pertains to accounts or trade in the alcohol beverage industry.
