As a Senior Site Compliance Analyst you will engage in advance analysis of E & J Gallo’s regulatory programs and activities related to alcohol beverage production and operations, ensuring compliance with federal, state and international laws, industry codes, and company policies. You will monitor and evaluate regulatory developments and interprets potential impacts on the organization. Contributes input and recommendations to the Company’s decision-making process.

What You Will Do:

  • Leads activities supporting Winemaking/Spiritsmaking and operations compliance functions are covered by government regulations across facilities and/or lines of business.
  • Reconciles bulk and finished goods inventories, prepares, signs, and submits monthly reports to regulatory agencies as an Attorney-In-Fact for the winery.
  • Maintains winery licenses and permits, plant registrations, and bonds as appropriate.
  • Maintains compliance related files, records and documentation in accordance with federal and state regulations.
  • Identifies and participates in the resolution of non-compliance situations.
  • Initiates, drives and collaborates cross functionally to build effective working relationships with key stakeholders and cross functional business partners to respond to compliance questions, develop conclusions, provide feedback and achieve shared objectives.
  • Leads complex related government interaction and compliance activities within the organization and at contract facilities during and after inspections, or during regulatory actions initiated by government agencies.
  • Independently and objectively researches, analyzes and interprets federal and state regulations to ensure compliance of transactions. Identifies compliance gaps and coordinates cross functionally to identify scalable solutions to remediate.
  • Participates in professional training to cross functional partners on federal, state, and international alcohol beverage and tax laws.
  • Reviews contracts to ensure compliance with internal policies and alcohol beverage laws. Provides timely feedback to Legal and cross functionals.
  • Prepares reports, situational analysis, and solution proposals to management related to winery operations and activities.
  • Reviews proposed activities by Winemaking/Spiritsmaking and operations to determine potential risk to the organization, advises and presents to management on such issues. This includes analyzing and interpreting complex regulatory rules involving new products/processes and/or changes to existing products/processes.
  • Participates in the development of department procedures, best practices and performance measures.
  • Develops and delivers regulatory compliance end user training to new team members as well as cross functional teams.
  • Identifies, communicates, and develops recommendations to mitigate regulatory risk with contingency planning, including corrective or preventive action.
  • Responsible for clear, transparent, effective communication about complex issues.
  • Ensures processes and procedures for each business process meets regulatory requirements providing direction and assistance in the development of actual workflows where needed.
  • Translates regulatory information with appropriate technical depth for the given audience and provide balanced regulatory assessment.
  • Conducts special business-related studies projects as requested, planning and overseeing to ensure completion in a timely fashion, engaging Legal Counsel and informing stakeholders of milestones.
  • Conducts special financial and business related studies or projects unsupervised.
  • Engages in proactive influencing of regulatory decision making.
  • Maintains satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.
  • Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations. If accountable for the work of others; responsible for ensuring their understanding and compliance.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Develops, coaches and mentors peers, indirect and subordinate staff.
  • If accountable for the work of others, conducts performance evaluations; reviews and communicates salary adjustments; rewards employees or takes disciplinary action, as necessary; addresses complaints and resolves issues.

What You Will Need:

  • Master’s degree plus 3 years of regulatory compliance, quality assurance, food science, chemistry, life sciences, winemaking, or auditing experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of regulatory compliance, quality assurance, food science, chemistry, life sciences, winemaking, or auditing experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility OR or High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 9 years of regulatory compliance experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Ability to self-start, prioritize and meet strict deadlines while maintaining good judgement and professional relationships.
  • Knowledge of and experience with applying the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of this field of specialization.
  • Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principles, practices and procedures of this field of specialization to the completion of difficult assignments.
  • Demonstrated ability as a critical thinker.

Skilled in:

  • The use of Microsoft Office Program Suite at an intermediate level.
  • Reading, analyzing and interpreting general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and/or governmental regulations.
  • Effectively presenting information and responding to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.

Experience in:

  • Defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts and drawing valid conclusions.
  • Working with all levels and functions within the company.
  • Completing assignments that are broad in nature, usually requiring originality and ingenuity. Has appreciable latitude for unreviewed action or decision.

 

What Will Set You Apart:

  • Master’s degree plus 5 years of regulatory compliance, quality assurance, food science, chemistry, life sciences, winemaking, or auditing experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor's degree plus 7 years of regulatory compliance, quality assurance, food science, chemistry, life sciences, winemaking, or auditing experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility

Skilled in:

  • Effectively presenting information and responding to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
  • Defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts and drawing valid conclusions. Skilled in interpreting an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Experienced in applying mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory and factor analysis.

Compensation:

  • Hiring Salary Range Posted: $78,300 -$130,600 
  • Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
