Hiring Salary Range Posted: $21.00- $21.00/hour


Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.

 

This position will be based in the location(s) specified in the job posting and requires working on-site with no telecommuting option. You will be expected to live within a commutable distance.

 

Seasonal Laboratory Technicians will gain hands-on experience in a lab environment while playing an instrumental role in Gallo's harvest season. Join us for the opportunity to utilize your skills in driving grape quality while contributing to our wine and spiritsmaking process. 

What You Will Do:

  • Perform physical and chemical analyses using appropriate distillation, titrametric, colorimetric, and instrumental methods to support grape harvest
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments such as gas chromatographs, high performance liquid chromatographs, atomic absorption spectrometers, and other instruments as required
  • Process laboratory samples and prepare chemical solutions according to guidelines
  • Collect grape and wine samples from different winery sites and deliver them to various labs in a timely manner
  • Utilize electronic devices to communicate work progress, perform data analysis/compilation, and write reports
     

What You Will Need:

  •  Bachelor's or Associate's degree with a minimum of 12 units of completed college level chemistry or biology courses with labs; OR In the process of and will obtain a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree when Harvest begins (July/August) with a minimum of 12 units of completed college level chemistry or biology courses with labs; OR High School Diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate, plus 3 years of Laboratory Technician experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility OR High School Diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate, plus 3 Harvest Seasons as a Gallo Laboratory Assistant.
  • Required to possess strong verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Required to lift and carry cases of product that can weigh up to 50 pounds.
  • Required to maintain 3 shift availability (day, swing, and graveyard); required to work overtime and weekends when necessary.
  • Required to conduct work at extreme heights.
  • Required to be at least 21 years of age.
  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
  • Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
