 We are seeking committed individuals to join our Maintenance Apprenticeship Program as Apprentices. This comprehensive program is designed to equip you with the essential skills and knowledge needed for troubleshooting, repairing, performing preventative maintenance, and installing various systems and equipment. By the end of the program, you will be adept at performing these tasks with minimal supervision.

 

As an Apprentice, you will diagnose and replace malfunctioning equipment such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures using electrical test equipment and your keen observational skills. Safety is our top priority; you will adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of company-supplied personal protective equipment (PPE), attending safety meetings, and maintaining awareness of potential hazards. Effective communication is crucial, and you will collaborate with other maintenance workers and team leads to develop and implement corrective action plans.

 

Your duties will encompass utilizing schematics, blueprints, and diagrams to troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues, performing minor repairs, and planning the layout and installation of wiring and electrical systems. Proficiency with tools such as power drills, saws, and conduit benders, as well as software applications like MS Office, will be advantageous. You will be expected to maintain a clean and organized work area and generate work orders for equipment repairs.

What You Will Need:

  • High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate.
  • Required to successfully complete the assessment.
  • Required to be 18 years of age of older.
  • Required to work any shift.
  • Required to work overtime if necessary.
  • Required to lift up to 40 pounds frequently.

What Will Set You Apart: 

  • Performs assigned jobs with minimum direction and supervision.
  • Communicates ideas clearly and articulately.
  • Knowledge of solid-state electronics including PLC’s.
  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in some phases of machine work.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of hydraulic pneumatics.
  • Working understanding of a CMMS System.
  • Basic PLC and VFD troubleshooting experience.
  • Knowledge of and experience troubleshooting complex electrical/solid state electronics using wiring diagrams and test equipment.
  • Experience setting-up and calibrating electrical hardware.
  • Training programs in safety.
  • Experience with basic Microsoft application (e.g. Word, Excel).
  • Knowledge of winery processing and receiving equipment.
  • Knowledgeable and skilled in repair and troubleshooting of winery processing and receiving equipment.
  • Three years’ experience working in a production/manufacturing facility.
  • Current or former, full-time or seasonal work experience as a Gallo employee
  • Certificate of Completion/Achievement or Associate Degree from an industrial trade program, any California Junior College, or other state’s equivalent, in one of the following trades/programs, or their equivalent:
  • Industrial Electronics
  • Machine Tool Technology
  • Industrial Electrical Technician
  • Mechanized Agriculture
  • Manufacturing Technology
  • Mechatronic/Automated Systems Technology
  • Industrial Maintenance Technology
  • Welding Technology
  • Diesel Equipment Technology

Compensation:

  • Hiring Salary Range Posted:  $32.32 - $32.32/ Hour 
  • Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
