Location: Livingston

As a Senior Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for all aspects of managing design projects for both Instrumentation and Automation. You will develop and implement production/processing methods, equipment and controls to meet quality and production standards in the most cost efficient manner. You will apply comprehensive knowledge of the technical discipline related to Automation Engineering to determine which wine processing or packaging is applied.  You will help drive operations innovation.
What you’ll do:
Leadership

  • Lead cross-functional controls teams to design, implement and start-up the controls areas of significant capital projects.
  • Cooperates with and manages customer expectations.
  • Integrate the work of controls and programming contract companies and new equipment suppliers in delivering a complete product consistent with Gallo’s specifications, standards, and current methods of operating and programming.
  • Innovation
  • Develop the control’s function scope for projects, negotiate the scope of the projects with site leadership and support the project through the funding approval stage.
  • Review proposals of outside vendors regarding the purchase of new or modernization of existing production/processing controls equipment.
  • Prepare testing procedures and functional acceptance test documents.

Controls Engineering Support

  • Develop detailed functional description document for programming purposes.
  • Commissions controls system including device configuration, I/O checkout, tuning, water, and production testing.
  • Assist as needed in troubleshooting winery and refrigeration control systems (software, hardware, electrical and/or mechanical problems).
  • Evaluate system performance, propose, and implement improvements.

What You Need

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering plus 5 years of Engineering, Project Engineering, Project Management, Commercial or Industrial Architecture, Commercial or Industrial Construction Management experience, reflecting increasing levels of responsibility, which may include Gallo TMDP or OMDP experience; OR
  • Bachelor of Science Degree plus 7 years of Engineering, Project Engineering, Project Management, Commercial or Industrial Architecture, Commercial or Industrial Construction Management experience, reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR 
  • Master’s Degree in Engineering plus 3 years of Engineering, Project Engineering, Project Management, Commercial or Industrial Architecture, Commercial or Industrial Construction Management experience, reflecting increasing levels of responsibility, which may include Gallo TMDP or OMDP experience; OR
  • PhD of Engineering and 1 year of Engineering experience; OR 
  • High School Diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 9 years of Engineering, Project Engineering, Project Management, Commercial or Industrial experience, reflecting increasing levels of experience.
  • Understands Basic Engineering and can follow standard work to achieve goals.
  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. Compensation

  • Hiring Salary Range Posted: $86,220 -$143,600.
  • Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
