Under minimal supervision supports various phases of winemaking processes to include the care, maintenance, and sanitation of all equipment and facilities. Must adhere to all safety procedures, support quality and GMP standards.
What You Will Do:

  • Operates press controls and receiving equipment.
  • Performs work order entry into WineManager and Barrel Tracking.
  • Maintains housekeeping, sanitation, GMP and PPE requirements.
  • Engages in red and white juice/wine racking.
  • Fills wine barrels, barrel topping, barrel SO2 addition, barrel ingredient additions and barrel out and back duties.
  • Supports receiving and shipping activities.
  • Performs filtration set-up, sanitation and operation (crossflow filter).
  • Engages in basic bottling line functions as needed.
  • Works safely while completing all assigned tasks; reports any observed unsafe acts or conditions.
  • Remains alert at all times; reports any observed problems promptly to the management team.
  • Drives a forklift and operates warehouse systems.
  • Required to carry out all Wine Technician 1(A and B) essential functions when necessary.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the team leader or manager.
  • Must maintain satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.
  • Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations.

What You Will Need:

  • High School Diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 2 years of wine production experience or 4 years of Wine Production experience.
  • Required to work a rotating shift/schedule throughout the year (day, swing, graveyard, 5x8); required to work weekends and overtime when necessary.
  • Required to stand for the duration of shift (8-12 hours excluding breaks and lunch).
  • Required to be physically capable of executing any job tasks within the bottling room or cellar.
  • Required to wear a respirator when necessary.
  • Required to become forklift certified onsite.
  • Required to be at least 18 years of age.
  • Participates in training and work in all areas for winery operations, including bottling, barrel warehouse, cellar and harvest roles.
  • Required to work at heights up to 45 feet, on tank catwalks inspecting wine surfaces when necessary.

What Will Set You Apart:

  • High School Diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 3 years of wine production experience.
  • Previous Gallo Winery Technician 1B and below experience.
  • Knowledge of basic winemaking.
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office Suite at a basic level; skilled in basic use of the internet.
  • Experience being a team player.
  • Experience understanding, giving or, following written and verbal instructions.
  • Skilled in written and oral communication.
