Researches, compiles, and analyzes grape and vineyard data; providing detailed reports and fact-based recommendations surrounding grape growing trends and current/future grape sourcing outlets. Represents the Coastal Grower Relations organization on cross- function project teams to support the continued growth and enhancement of the coastal vineyard and winemaking organizations.
What You Will Do:

  • Organize and coordinate grape forecast availability for premium wine operations to include tons and pricing. Correlates information and distributes to management.
  • Provides insight to the management team surrounding vineyard reports, and regional grape-growing trends.
  • Makes recommendations and gives input relating to the grape supply strategy for Coastal operations.
  • Supports the development of the 5-year Premium wine and grape supply plan; sourcing, researching, pricing and formulating a sourcing plan that will support the overall finance strategy for the organization.
  • Generates routine and ad-hoc reports which provide information on wine product targets for GVI and grower relations vineyard blocks.
  • Tracks and updates the amount of projected grape tonnage under contract.
  • Partners with cross-functional organizations to execute tasks related to high profile projects.
  • Maintains and reviews data from multiple locations ensuring that the information is current and relevant.
  • Maintains strong understanding of short and long-term supply of both internal, and external, vineyards, as well as sales of internal grapes.
  • Leads planning meetings during harvest to include presentations, support documentation, ad hoc reports, grape scheduling delivery, compliance auditing, and analysis.
  • Participates in the development of department procedures and performance measures.
  • Analyzes and interprets production results and creates technical reports.
  • Effectively and professionally communicates with Grower Relations Representatives, and Wine & Grape Supply, Information Services and GVI organizations.
  • Maintains satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.
  • Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality environmental and safety regulatory considerations. If accountable for the work of others, Responsible for ensuring their understanding and compliance.

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of grower relations, agriculture business management, financial analysis, or vineyard management experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Skilled in the use of MS Excel at an intermediate level.
  • Required to work weekends on occasion as needed.

What Will Set You Apart:

  • Bachelor's degree in Viticulture, Enology, Crop Science, Finance, or Ag Business, plus 5 years or grower relations, agriculture business management, financial analysis, vineyard management experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Master of Business Administration degree.
  • Gallo Winery vineyard management, grower relations or corporate finance experience.
  • Skilled in the use of Agriculture software systems relating to crop tracking and management.
  • Skilled in the use of MS Word, and MS PowerPoint at and intermediate level; MS Excel at an advanced level.
  • Experience working on special projects that impact business operations.
  • Experience defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.
  • Experience working well under pressure, meeting multiple and sometimes competing deadlines.
  • Experience demonstrating positive and cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Experience with managing multiple assignments.
  • Experience completing assignments that are broad in nature, requiring originality and ingenuity having appreciable latitude for un-reviewed action or decision
  • Broad knowledge of principles, practices and procedures of this particular field of specialization.
