The Grape Supply Analyst leverages skills and training to provide tactical and basic strategic support for the Grower Relations business. Supports the team by maintaining pricing data, assisting with the OSS collections and tracking process, compiling and analyzing grape and vineyard data; making required corrections and improvements and providing detailed reports and fact-based recommendations surrounding grape growing trends and current/future grape sourcing outlets with the guidance of their manager. Represents the Coastal Grower Relations organization on cross-function project teams to support the continued growth and enhancement of the coastal vineyard and winemaking organizations.

What You Will Do

  • Creates, supports, and refines tools and processes ensuring operational excellence within the grower relations business team
    • Tracks and updates the amount of grape tonnage under contract
    • Maintains large datasets, including GMS and GVI Block data
    • Leverages existing tools to support ad hoc supply questions from team
    • Supports the completion of the 5-year coastal wine and grape supply plan
    • Maintains and reviews data for multiple locations ensuring that the information is accurate, current and relevant.
    • Maintains and acts against the Coastal Outside Grape sales aging report.
  • Works with Manager and WGS to create reports and analyze Premium Grape Supply Data
    • Conducts research to identify available grape sources for Premium wine operations (e.g., Napa Valley, Northern CA Coast, Central CA Coast and WA).
    • Generates routine and ad-hoc reports which provide information on vineyard programs in the region.
    • Tracks and updates the amount of projected grape tonnage under contract; identifies growers not under contract with any organization for possible addition to one of our vineyard programs.
    • Provides insight to the management team surrounding vineyard reports, and regional grape growing trends
    • Maintains strong understanding of short and long-term supply of both internal, and external, vineyards, as well as sales of internal grapes.
  • Supports GVI and GR base data management in GMS
    • Ensures replant data is up to date and maintained across all systems
    • Updates and maintains base block data
    • Ensures that contract data is correct
    • Generates routine and ad-hoc reports which provide information on vineyard programs
    • Maintains pricing model and audits contract pricing
  • Engages in harvest activities for internal and external grape supply
    • Maintains forecast of grape availability for impending harvest
    • Coordinates Harvest weekly status meeting and timely schedule reporting
    • Supports department on delivery scheduling, compliance, and contract parameter testing
    • Ensures recurring harvest reporting is timely, accurate, and productively supports decision making
    • Works closely with coordinators to investigate and resolve GMS or other system discrepancies and problems
  • Develops understanding of overall grape planning and supply processes through finished product
  • Collaborates with cross-functional team members to obtain input, formulate strategies, gain alignment, and execute project initiatives

What You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree; OR High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 4 years accounting, finance, operations, supply chain or IT experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Experience with MS Excel

What Will Set You Apart

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance plus 2 years accounting or finance experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Experience in Wine Industry or Agriculture Industry
  • Experience with SAP
