Gallo Sales Company, the Northern California distributor for E & J Gallo Winery, based out of Hayward, CA is looking for a technically minded self-starter who is able to work and complete tasks with little to no supervison.  You will be expected to help drive process improvement and standardization, analyze data, and coordinate the transportation routes for deliveries and pick-ups. You will play a key role in the analysis and reporting of operational data by using analytical rigor to drive insight, alignment and identify opportunities. You will be expected to think critically about our operations current processes based on your data analysis and drive actionable strategies for change and operation efficiency. Dispatcher experience is not required for the position; however analytical skills are a must and previous operations experience is a plus.

What you will do:

  • Creates efficient delivery routes, incorporating travel and service times, DOT restrictions and traffic patterns for Delivery Department.
  • Leverages, maintains, and utilizes routing software such as Roadnet to ensure route efficiency.
  • Communicates routing issues and coordinates process improvement.
  • Communicates with Sales regarding shipment status updates.
  • Reviews route variances and performs research on discrepancies.
  • Analyzes, audits, and summarizes operational data.
  • Prepares weekly and monthly labor reports (hours, dollars, absenteeism, etc.) for operational areas.

What you will need:

  • High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate.
  • Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of warehouse operations, production planning/ scheduling, inventory control management, or corporate finance experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Skilled in the use of MS Applications (Excel, Access).
  • Up to 20% travel required for this position.

What will set you apart:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of warehouse operations, production planning/ scheduling, inventory control management, or corporate finance experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Experience with various software applications such as ALR, Roadnet, and other Operational programs.
  • Experience reading and understanding routing manuals, manual maps, and computerized maps.
  • Knowledge of Northern California geography.
  • Experienced with Lean, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement techniques.
