Are you ready to take on a dynamic role at California Natural Color (Cal Color) as an Operations Production Specialist? We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented individual to provide essential administrative and support services for our operations department. In this role, you will utilize your knowledge of departmental policies and procedures, and a general understanding of other departments’ functions, to serve as an administrative liaison both within the company and externally. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to develop policies and procedures to streamline the function of our operations team in support of Cal Color’s continued growth and success within the Natural Colors industry.
As an Operations Production Specialist, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including reviewing and filing operational, HACCP, and sanitation log sheets, and flagging items for follow-up. You'll work cross-functionally to identify and eliminate administrative bottlenecks, leverage Information Technology to streamline processes, and champion efforts to automate and digitize forms and metrics. Your role will also involve maintaining safety stock of critical maintenance parts and supplies, coordinating crew schedules, managing attendance reports, and facilitating training and onboarding of new team members.
You will maintain timekeeping records, ensure timely completion of GMP action items, track Master Sanitation Schedule attainment, and coordinate operational meetings.

What You Need
- High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 3 years of administrative support, payroll support, event planning and coordination, or production scheduling experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
- Experience handling sensitive and confidential information.
- Required to work scheduled shift (day, swing or graveyard).
- Required to work overtime and occasional weekends. Required to work overtime, weekends and holidays if necessary. All overtime hours will be paid in accordance with federal, state and collective bargaining agreement provisions.
- Required to operate a forklift when needed.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint at an intermediate level
- Experience performing data entry on a PC.
- Skilled in reading, comprehending, interpreting and executing basic instructions, correspondence and memos.
- Skilled in writing correspondence.
- Skilled in arithmetic and basic algebra.
- Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
- Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
What Will Set You Apart
- Bachelor of Business Administration degree; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 4 years of administrative support, payroll support, production scheduling.
- Skilled in the use of various MS applications to include: Access, Teams, Forms, Visio, and SharePoint.
- Gallo production and operations experience.
- Customer service or production/manufacturing experience.
- Experience working under pressure, meeting aggressive deadlines and making sound decisions.
- Experience communicating professionally with employees regarding scheduling.
- Experience reading and interpretting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Possess good organizational/record keeping skills; skilled in multi-tasking.
- Experience working with ADP timekeeping software.
Compensation:
- Hiring Salary Range Posted: $24.71 - $33.37 / Hour
- Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
