SUMMARY
The Level 5 Painter works on the interior and exterior of large wine storage tanks, as well as equipment and structures throughout the winery. The duties include, but are not limited to, inspection of tanks and equipment/structures, prep work painting tasks (masking, hand tool prep, etc.), erecting and dismantling scaffolding, sandblasting and removal of used sand, and repair and maintenance of all paint equipment.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Preparation of structures for paint/foam applications.
  • General spray painting/sandblasting.
  • Scaffold construction and maintenance.
  • Participates in preparing and painting miscellaneous equipment and structures throughout the winery.
  • Use of power and hand tools.
  • Follows company safety procedures, quality and GMP standards.
  • Committed to continuous improvement, accountability.
  • Performs all essential functions at an acceptable level of performance as determined by management.
  • Maintains satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.
  • Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory consideration.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate.
  • Required to be 21 years of age or older
  • Two years of painting/coating experience in an industrial setting performing work described in essential functions.
  • Required to work any shift.
  • Required to work aloft and on platforms.
  • Required to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
  • Required to pass respirator qualification process.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with multiple component coating and sandblast.
  • Drive/Operate industrial equipment (forklifts, tractor, wave, etc.)
  • Skilled in reading, analyzing and interpreting work instructions, chemical guidelines, MSDS sheets.
  • Skilled in defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.
  • Skilled in effectively presenting information and responding to questions from team and other departmental managers and representatives.
  • Demonstrates team building, leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Trained in tank entry permits (confined space training).
  • Knowledge of general paint preparation.
  • Self-motivated, shows initiative, and demonstrates the skill in multi-tasking.
  • Works well under pressure, manages priorities efficiently.
  • Good communication, presentation and writing skills.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to:
  • Work aloft and on platforms.
  • Standing and walking up to 90 percent of the workday.
  • Pushing, pulling, reaching to the full extension of the arms, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, handling and grasping, twisting/turning, torso rotation, lifting/carrying.
  • Lift and move a maximum of 50 lbs.

  • Temperatures range from 30 to 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
