Winery Start Up Engineering Internship

Gallo’s new facility in Chester County, South Carolina will be an East Coast hub for E. & J. Gallo Winery, with both production and distribution. With a fast-growing Organization, it is necessary for E. & J. Gallo Winery to have cross functional teams involving Engineering, Operations, Product Making, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Vendors for startup projects.

What You Will Do
The East Coast Engineering Internship Program is searching for appropriate candidates to fill 3-6 month internship positions in Fort Lawn, SC. You will assist in the startup of new packaging lines and expansions. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a production environment and increase your skill base for future employment or graduate school. Working closely with cross functional teams, your essential functions are as follows:
- Work on system startup and support commissioning, equipment validation and tracking of key performance and quality metrics.
- Develops equipment set ups, documentation, equipment / material interface, and continuous improvement through learning and implementing the Lean Six Sigma process.
- Develops critical parameters for equipment and systems. Lead root cause analysis for major unplanned downtime events.
- Develops and maintains relationship and communications between suppliers, engineers, technical planners, storeroom, mechanics, and production line workers.
Compensation
- Hiring Salary Range Posted: $24 - $27 / Hour
- Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.

What You Will Need
- Currently enrolled at a college or university and working towards a Bachelor’s degree in the School of Engineering.
- Candidates for this position must have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record. Required to obtain an appropriate state driver’s license within 30 days of hire.
- Available for the entire duration of this internship program (3 or 6 months)
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- Required to lift and move up to 40 lbs when necessary.
- Required to stand for long durations of time.
- Requires availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays when necessary.
- Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
What Will Set You Apart
- Junior or Senior class standing at a college or university and working towards a Bachelor’s degree in the School of Engineering.
- Strong applied technical skills and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and team skills and experience managing multiple assignments.
- Comfortable in a manufacturing environment.
- Mechanical inclination and an aptitude for design of equipment and manufacturing processes.
